I know that a few of the CDs I've made play great in my home CD player or DVD player and in other people's devices. But, when I try them in my car (a year 2000), sometimes near the end they get some static. I get the same behavior from CDs I receive from friends. they play great in my computer or home systems, but act strange in my car.

My recent 48-song CD has this further odd trait in my car stereo. It will play fine straight through, but when the last song ends, it has a problem moving back to the 1st song and starting over. I have to eject the CD and then pop it back in to get it to play again. It's just a quirk with these older players.

I have one thing to try:  burn one at 24X speed, see if it works.

I had to stop using "maximum" because half the cds would fail at the end.  I use 24X, but 16X might be even safer.

I know it's crazy that "maximum" is an option if it FAILS.

So I was listening in the truck without the track list to help me so it's going to be interesting to go back and go Ah! that's who that is. I could only sing along and I use the term sing very loosely I could only sing along with 6 out of 20 and didn't want to skip any so I think that's what makes a really great disc.

edit: okay that is not all. Welly's CD was thoughtfully prepared to accompany a lovely evening of cooking and dining so I thought I'd save it for that but swear to god since her disc came in it's been nothing but hot dogs and rice. I guess I'll just put it on. But not now because I haven't heard Bela Lugosi's Dead yet.
