OCDHG - your mix is awesome! The first half reminded me of all those pics you and your husband posted on your road trip. It's a pretty good soundtrack of a roadtripper's life. The second half was a bit more loose to interpretation, but rounded everything out really well. What a great listen! Thank you for sending one my way!

Artist: Buckner Richard Song: Ocean Cliff Clearing Ten years now since the lights went down I was coming out from the secret suite The name was fame but her spark was fine Her shadow left to follow me From the poor oil changer that fades away A message from a diamond and she's smoking hot He thought he had a handle but the load went down Busted up found and broken out In the dim chalky light Another half damn moon I lost, turned, packed, and I knock into a roller With a note and the news The showboat motel casper night The river's high and losing I'll watch your flaming figure fly And burn on out at the ruins This fellow belts out a warning Of some spanish house I'd known Cut to bone Quick to the cue
I'm sure that doesn't help much

There were curtains, and when you opened them there was a magnificent view of cinderblocks. OCDHG - Was perusing your songlist dealie there courtesy of Zep. Is that Jimmy Davis formerly of Jimmy Davis & Junction? Edit: Never mind. I answered my own question. It's him. I had no idea he was still recording. He's had a bit of a stylistic departure in the last 23 or 24 years. at least you know you can kick the wall

So with this mix and the one from Jimi the Saint, I have Kentucky and Tennessee covered. That leaves 48 other states .... Glad you like!

Those lyrics don't make any sense even when you know that's a real place but hey. Eric will be thrilled.
Yea, Buckner is different. I think he just likes the sounds of words. Which is kinda cool, and it works for him I guess. Stream of consciousness free association stuff, I think.

I thought the segue was OK but I still maintain that it doesn't really fit the theme

Good Morning Aztlan Cripple Creek Will You Return Johnny Too Bad (and I must say I never really cared for that track in context on the disk... just doesn't fit but here it's great) Take Me Home (which of course everyone knows and thanks to Bill most of us know this version) Powderfinger 1952 VBL Goin' Goin' Gone
So I guess I know 8 out of 20 but I only have 6.

edieraye wrote: No. It started off with 18 songs which I thought was pushing it but the CD burned without an error and played back on the computer without any problems so I figured I was golden. But (after burnig a bazillion copies) when I tried it earlier today in the car I was rudely awakened to the fact that it wouldn't play anything after song 14. (It wouldn't play songs 15, 16, 17, and 18) I took out a song and still, only the first 14 played. But I continued to experiment which is when I discovered that if I took away a longer song I could get it to play 15 but not 16-18. Somewhere in there I decided to see just how many minutes and size - because iTunes does NOT give you the info. And even when I got the numbers down to what I consider to be ample wiggle room it still didn't work. I am now moving on. The Rainy Day Music mix is officially RIP. Sunshine only from here on out! I would try to find a few other CD or DVD players to test those CDs before you toss them away. How old is your car that has the player you tested the CDs? I have a feeling your CDs are fine and it is just the player. I know that a few of the CDs I've made play great in my home CD player or DVD player and in other people's devices. But, when I try them in my car (a year 2000), sometimes near the end they get some static. I get the same behavior from CDs I receive from friends. they play great in my computer or home systems, but act strange in my car. My recent 48-song CD has this further odd trait in my car stereo. It will play fine straight through, but when the last song ends, it has a problem moving back to the 1st song and starting over. I have to eject the CD and then pop it back in to get it to play again. It's just a quirk with these older players.
