Awesome, really cool and yeah I am only passingly familiar with most of it.

Lucero (note spelling) plays in Billings once a year or two (well, used to) but I haven't made it to a show yet.

Am I up next? I keep thinking up new ideas so I should get serious I guess.

Whoops! How did that happen? Bad transferring over of info on my part.
Yes Scott. We need more seriousness from you.

This was a real welcome dose of ass-kickin' foot stompin' rowdy rock & roll. A lot of new stuff to me, and Thermodore and Pete Droge really got my attention (I already loved the Beat Farmers).

...and Pete Droge was where the disc crashed Winamp. In an attempt to hear the rest of the disc I popped it into the car's CD player for a trip to town...which promptly scratched the heck out of it.

So I'll polish it out and get back at it, but all I heard was good stuff!

Be sure to keep that in mind when you get mine.  I take minimalism to the extreme, you don't even get a playlist.

Got yours.  Took me a minute to get the theme, had not heard that term but it makes sense!   Only recognized a handful of artist much less songs.  Looks very interesting!

There's nothing wrong with simplicity.
Some consider me a simpleton.

Wow! I thought my unsophisticated  approach to music would be boring.
Probably because I listen to this type of music quite a bit. I had to weed through about 200 songs to whittle it down to 22. If this goes over well enough... I might do a Disc 2. A threat!
Some are on the border of the topic. One's in there because a radio station I listen to didn't want to play it. They thought the title was questionable. And they play all my request.
I'm such a radical.

I searched for images on... Google Images. That was my starting point.
I then used Pixalmater (an Apple photo editor) to "fine tune" the ones I wanted to use. And to add all the text.
Thanks to my daughter, who showed me the light...  by using Apple Pages, she showed me how to get to a CD sleeve maker. I fumbled around a bit and made it work.
Microsoft Word has a similar program.
To print on a CD... my old Epson Printer will do that. I did have to find the software at Epson to get it up to date.

In the end Miamizsun... all that matters is the music. Even though you hand wrote your playlist... your music was great!

The other stuff is fluff. But it is fun to do.

Be sure to keep that in mind when you get mine.  I take minimalism to the extreme, you don't even get a playlist.

Got yours.  Took me a minute to get the theme, had not heard that term but it makes sense!   Only recognized a handful of artist much less songs.  Looks very interesting!

Disclaimer... I mailed them "Media" which is a little cheaper.
They said it might take up to 7 days for arrival.

Here at last! This is going to be fun.

Really nice cover art, btw.

Cool.
And thanks! I was inspired by you.
Did you happen to notice the envelope with all the ciphering on the back?
I'd figured you may want that back.

Banjolicious! My first thought as I was going thru this was that this mix was MADE for Lazy8. Though the Cold One likes a good pluck on the old Banjo here and there also. The highlights:

Mighty River - Sounded an awful lot like Arlo... really good fiddle work (always a good pairing with Banjo)
Emotions - Your perfume cuts me in half...what a great lyric
Cold Beverage - "infamous" are they? Not in my neck of the woods
Give up the Ghosts - I really dug this one, favorite of the mix.
Luckiest Man - Good Wood, everything I hear from those siblings perks my ears up
Don't Forget Where You Came From - Well I came from Bahston and our Guv'nahs are certainly dirty
Bound for Leaving - Singing my song man! I'm ready to throw in the towel, buy an Airstream and hit the road.

Well done {#High-five} a good follow up to your inaugural mix and a completely different one for sure. Like to see the diversity. Looking forward to your next one already.

 Firstly not sure if I am capable of producing enough words for unique accolades on a song by song critique; bottom line is I have rarely met a song with a banjo that I did not like. I will only point out specifically the ones that I especially loved, but assume I loved them all. {#Cowboy}

3.  Believe it or not, this reminds me of Faces and that is a good thing indeed.

5.  Really dug the fiddle in this one, felt like I may need to shower cause of the oil, gasoline and clay, but then realized she wants me this way.

8.  Not crazy about this one musically, better hope no one from Dexy's Runners or their lawyers hear this, but the lyrics are funny.

9.  What a graceful tune, not overdone.  Very nice.

10.  Admittedly I really wanted to dislike this song, I tire of the computer, programmer and producers increased role in music production, but this one is pretty catchy. Any A and R man would want this released.

12.  Jo Funk.  I approve of this message.

13.  By far my favorite song so far, I haven't peaked yet but I am pretty sure I know this artist voice and have a lot of his songs, will see.  Had to cheat on this one. lol  Ok, not who I thought it was, but was familiar with the voice, I do have some Wood Brothers.  Not this one though, good stuff!

15.  Ok, ok.  This one sounds very familiar too, the artist not the song.  Cheating again...working......can't read your handwriting on this, but saw enough to know that I never heard of em. Ahh Very nice there Govnah!  Very nice indeed!  {#Drummer}

18.  Singer sounds a lot like Chris Stapleton, almost too good especially when you have been immersed in 75 plus year old music as of late.  A bit of a production shock. {#Eek} These guys are very good.

Kind of a modern take on a roots instrument.  Well played, Sir.{#High-five}

This was a total joy end to end, but I was particularly intrigued by the Steeldrivers. Gotta go track some more of them down.

I had heard the Dead South, Infamous Stringdusters, and Railroad Earth before, but not these cuts. G. Love added some...special sauce.

Outstanding disc! This will get a lot of play here at the ranch.

Agree!
How can you go wrong with a band named Computer Versus Banjo?

My disk are done. I'll be mailing quickly.
