robins don't really migrate. well, they do sort of. but they don't go far, what you are seeing are robins from a little further north. keep an eye on evergreen treetops, you'll see lots of them up there, especially at roosting time.

Growing up we had a few ducks of that breed. Ugly, ain't they?

I went out to sweep the driveway, and found ducks on it. (We live a couple of hundred yards from a pond they like.) I gave them a couple of pieces of old bread. Now they won't go away. Damn ducks.

I was outside today, looked up and saw the upper half of a cat's head peering over the neighbor's roof ridge at me.  All black with yellow eyes.  I called L to come and look, commented that he thinks we can't see him.  Then said, "That's funny!"  At that, the cat's ears went back and he turned around and disappeared.

Cats don't like to be laughed at.

Those are the same kind of duck-beasts we have in Georgetown. Evil little suckers.......and they bite too.
