We did some hikes around Thanksgiving when we went home... It was cold and windy on Mount Rogers, and there were no ponies to be seen. Just lots of pony poo. We call them the 'fecal' ponies (instead of 'feral' ponies).

EDIT: Oh, to be where you are right now. I love the white, powdery sands of the gulf. My friends and I had a "support group for S.A.D. sufferers" at our local pub hangout last night. We vowed to get one another through the next two months.

Oh yea. Appy is the skier... I won't embarass anyone, but I am an east coast skier... I don't know what to do when the snow isn't made by snow machine... AKA I crash in powder... appy actually can ski that stuff.  I'm an expert at skiing ice.
