I've seen drivers go off the road and/or swerve into the on-coming lane when they are texting. Fortunately there have only been near misses, not collisions. So far.

Frankly it scares the crap out of me. If it's that important, why not pull off to the side or into a service center and do the text while stationary? Let the rest of us get on our way safely.

Who needs to be constantly talking on the phone?  When I am driving in the city, it seems that about 1 out of every 3 cars, the driver is talking on a cellphone. 

That all those folks driving around with cell phones stuck to their ears would put the damn phones down and pay attention to their driving. My life is more important than your got damned phone call.
