Well, least I haven't had to run him off of my front step this year. FWIW, Tara Nethercott graduated high school with my brother. She's actually a pretty good egg.
Edit: Hey, you know what would really throw a wrench in my voting routine? Chuck Gray getting elected as Secretary of State. Cripes, it's infuriating.
Ms Nethercott seems like she's probably the smartest person in the room most of the time. And Troy Bray told her she should kill herself, so that tells me she's the one to vote for.
Mr. Bray, who got into trouble for being a hothead in Casper (can't find the link to a bigger story now), now lives in Powell and is running for the State House... and might win. Tomorrow's gonna suck a lot. He's a terrible human but I've played against him at Trivia night and was a bit impressed to learn that he's not unintelligent or unread. So there's a chance he could be a problem if he gets in. If he can keep from telling people to kill themselves. Note that he also called her a f-in C, but he apologized for that.

No ID. I just go to the county's website, fill out an electronic form and they mail me my ballot about a month before the election. I like it 'cause I can have the paper, etc. in front of me as I try and figure out which is the least lousy choice.

So no ID at any point? If I had to drive more than 2 minutes to get to the polling place, I'd probably vote by mail or go to the courthouse but I'm a procrastinator so this fits my personality. That it has some small cachet is an unusual bonus.

I've voted absentee for years and after all the fuss over falsified voting by mail there was absolutely no change in the process for this election. Weird, eh?

So I'm an in-person, day-of-show voter, if at all possible. So a weird thing happened in that we have to show an ID now, and that seemed to slow things up, and then the lines to check in were divided A-E, F-K, L-R etc. and the stinkin' L line snaked out the door while the other lines were empty. Strange, and what is usually a 5 minute exercise turned into about an hour. Is that how voter suppression works? That's how, isn't it?

Also, the guy in front of Augusta and me was trying to pass out "Conservative Voter Guides" but he got a frosty reception all around so he stifled it after a few minutes.
Also, I learned that I'm still registered R after Justine's foray a couple of years ago. I wasn't going to change to R to vote for Liz, the way so many might be, but as long as I had that ballot, I took the opportunity to vote down ballot contests that are important. In the House race, I voted for her MTG-wannabe opponent who won't get the nomination but if he does, the D has a good chance to make a good showing, and if he wins it all, he's not going to do much more damage than Liz so hey.
When it comes to crucial votes, Liz Cheneyâs lifetime score is an abysmal 3.54%, slightly to the right of Q-Anon queens Marjorie Traitor Greene (4.13%) and Lauren Boebert (4.59), though not quite as extreme as Jay Obernolte (2.74%), Claudia Tenney (2.52%) or Kevin McCarthy (1.37%). But that isnât the voting record of a âmoderate.â Itâs the voting record of a hard core conservative.
Well, if he were to croak from this (and it doesn't look now like he will), we will be INNUNDATED for weeks with stories in the news about what a great man he was, what a great American, a great patriot, a humanitarian, ad infinitum until I want to barf.
Cheney, right? To quote Morrissey,
"I've come to wish you an unhappy birthday, Because you're evil and you lie, And if you should die I may feel slightly sad (but I won't cry)."

And besides, he's getting off to easy if he dies from a heart attack.
Of course you're right, I know. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. For not entirely altruistic reasons, as Dio has mentioned.
