1) Turn off the water when you are not using it, like when you are washing dishes, brushing your teeth, taking a shower.
2) Don't let your car run needlessly, like to warm it up.
3) Reuse, recycle, upcycle, think twice about what you can do to cut down on your trash.
4) Could be in #3, but it deserves its own #: STOP BUYING BOTTLED WATER! You are not paying for the water, which is just tap water, but you are paying for the bottle.
5) Walk, ride your bike, or take public transportation instead of driving.
6) Try to buy products that are local or regional, and have a minimum of packaging, esp plastic. Even better, grow your own.
7) Keep your use of chemicals to a minimum, using non-harmful substances instead of poisons.
8) Take your own reusable bags to stores instead of paper or plastic.
9) Use a reel mower instead of a power mower.
10) Turn off the lights.
These are just off the top of my head, what I try to practice in order to be a good citizen of the world. Please feel free to add your own.
The best use for a two liter bottle of soda. 1. Purchase. 2. Use contents to clean car engine and remove grease from floor. Do not drink. 3. Wash out container. 4. Plant food.
Janis and I are going to celebrate by visiting a beautiful nature area south of here....teeming with waterfalls that are rockin' and rollin' at this time of year.
Wildflower season has also begun!
And Mother Nature has gifted us with another warm, sunny, clear day!

Oh people, look around you The signs are everywhere You've left it for somebody other than you To be the one to care You're lost inside your houses There's no time to find you now Your walls are burning and your towers are turning I'm going to leave you here and try to get down to the sea somehow The road is filled with homeless souls Every woman, child and man Who have no idea where they will go But they'll help you if they can Now everyone must have some thought That's going to pull them through somehow Well the fires are raging hotter and hotter But the sisters of the sun are going to rock me on the water now Rock me on the water Sister will you soothe my fevered brow Rock me on the water I'll get down to the sea somehow Oh people, look among you It's there your hope must lie There's a sea bird above you Gliding in one place like jesus in the sky We all must do the best we can And then hang on to that gospel plow When my life is over, I'm going to stand before the father But the sisters of the sun are going to rock me on the water now Rock me on the water Sister will you soothe my fevered brow Rock me on the water, maybe I'll remember Maybe I'll remember how Rock me on the water The wind is with me now So rock me on the water I'll get down to the sea somehow

encouraged my cube mate to recycle his plastic water bottles today, and make use of the recycling bin in the office kitchen that's right next to the trash can, instead of the can under his desk....and to do it EVERY day, not just on earth day. it requires getting up and walking into the kitchen of course.....so that could make it difficult to accomplish.....but he said he'd try to remember. i know how quickly he forgets things, so i don't anticipate him actually doing it....but one does what one can....
Can you put up a sign in the kitchen PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR BOTTLES ?
