Last night's show was a little flat, IMO.  Ben kept interrupting everyone and seemed to assume that everyone knew all the details of his little stories like we had been privy to his previous conversations.  In the past, he just made his point and then let other people speak.

Thomas Friedman made a couple of good points regarding the economy so it wasn't a total bust.  I wonder in Palin will 'get it' on SNL tonight?

"Get it?" You mean like a pie in the face? That would be nice. But alas, they'll probably be very nice to her. Kind of disappointing too, to have her on. The Tina Fey sketches have been nice, but then putting on the Governor of Alaska would be too self-referential. You know, like an inside joke that everybody gets and is supposed to laugh about, but really isn't? SNL should keep its distance from its subjects, else the show seems too chummy and the edge on the satire is worn down.

Maher last night was ok (I fell asleep ). Ben Affleck was a boor but Bernie Sanders was outstanding.

Did anyone else watch Real Time last night? Can anyone else tell me what the hell Garry Shandling was up to? Bizarre!

I thought it was a particularly excellent Real Time.  I loved Garry.  So funny, but SO on the mark about the cost of the war being ignored in all these discussions.

Oh, and great jack too.

Just fine, neighbour. Logged out earlier to do some grass-cutting, etc., at the homestead. You tell yer' bankers down there to smarten up; our food prices are going up, gas prices going up, etc. All hell's breaking loose. Aw shucks, Gov. Palin, can you and Johnny save us?

More to my concerns . . . why the hell can't Canadians get the video podcast version?  Some secret?  We speak the same language, you know.  Less than 20% of our fine nation is bilingual.  We've evolved from igloos and hunting caribou (well, some of us).  Frustrating.  Love Maher.  Did anyone see Tony Blair on John Stewart the other night?  Classic.

I don't think realistically that we can fit a keg in the post.  And what's the customs label going to read?  "gift, worth less than $10, books and baby clothes" (that's our usual one!).

You did. And as you well know I'm good for waiting till the last minute. My problem with favorites is (as you can see in my favorites folder) isn't very full because I like everyones photos. As for my own, I only upload the good one's in most cases. Others I just want a record of. The other 10,000 are on my pc waiting for my system to explode so I can start all over again. Some day I'm sure, I may not be able to afford flikr. And as I understand it. I won't be able to view some or all of them.

Well burn a backup CD of the ones you have to have, and give it to someone for safekeeping!

I'm sure you know which ones get the oohs and ahhs... I like the ones with a pattern (like what I posted).

There! I went thru and favorited a few...

I think I told you last Christmas that one of those would be a Very Nice Present for your giftee in the Gift Swap. So just pick your favorite now, get a print at Target and get a cheap frame while you're there, box it up and just wait for Mary to give you the address. Done!
