Looking at the comments section regarding the latest Synagogue attack and some were blaming Muslim extremist and others were blaming White Supremacist. In this particular case it was the White supremacist, but that is so missing the point. The real point is depending on the context and individual both could be equally as true since they share the same goals and hatred regarding Jewish people. {#Sad} All hatred is bad, there are no buts or qualifications.

How about we all spend some time focusing on the policies that Hillary and Donald shared?   Still might share for all I know.   Between this overwhelming focus on personalities and stultifying ideologies, the actual policies and their ramifications never seem to get discussed.

No matter how low the Trump bar might settle, it automatically sits above the hypothetical Hillary bar.

You can look at it the other way too - as long as we are still alive to debate the topic, Trump hasn't done as poorly as some others were expecting (although I'm sure Hillary could have killed us all long ago).

A.k.a. the fallacy of relative privation. Despite being a monumental oaf, Trump is good for (some) business, possibly cutting "entitlements", and getting rid of those pesky regulations...

Local knowledge can be better but not always.

After 2 years of hitch-hiking all over South America and chatting up all kinds of folks, including, many so-called 'terrorists', I came to the realization that folks in major urban centres in New York, London, Paris, etc, were often better informed about events in south of north country x than the vast majority of citizens in said country.

For perspective, this was the late 1970s.  Recall that several SA countries were under military dictatorship or had just emerged from military dictatorship.   That said, later I came to the same conclusion in democratic countries while overlanding Africa.

At the end of the day, well financed elite gate keeper media in the rich west have more resources at their disposal than perhaps all the media combined in poor, southern countries.   Resources matter.   Sources matter.  Stephan Moore lives in the USA but he is the last person on earth I would consult for in-depth insight on the American economy.

Or one can imagine consulting Donald "Nobody-knows-more-about" Trump on just about anything...

I guess I'll really have to start paying closer attention to what Ms. Coulter and Mr. Carlson have to say since they too must  have the inside skinny on such subjects. From a strictly local perspective of course.
