I have understood there to be three things one should not talk about if one is to "get along" with people 1. is politics.  2. is religion. 3. is one's sex life. I think the answer lies in the fact that it is nigh impossible to convince a person of something other than that which they already believe to be true.

I expressed myself badly (yet again).  I do not believe that the world is black and white and that any party in this dispute is all wrong or all in the right (far from it).  But it annoys me that a very small number of those posting on these forums seem to live in a simplistic world where their guy is always in the right and if I disagree with them then I must be in the opposing camp. 

I would put that thought in the "things that really piss me off" thread.  I have been struggling to express myself on this one but it is the small proportion of people here who seem to think "if you are not my friend you must be my enemy" that  irritate infuriate me.  Cannot I be upset about what is happening in Gaza and disapprove of the Israeli government's actions without being a supporter of Hamas?  When did the world become so polarised, so black and white.  Oops/ hijack.

Go take him about 50 old 2x4 s and ask him to cut them into one inch slices. hahahahh

the neighbor with the circular saw on his balcony is at it again.

Actually, I grew up watching it with my grandmother, a world class word-puzzle kind of girl.  Thanks to the miracle of DVR, I can now enjoy the puzzle part without having to hear about the contestant's lives - I FF through them while announcing "I do not care about your life."  Just because I watch average shows does not mean I do it in an average manner.

Don't even get me started on the idjits who buy two or three in a row.

The other day I bought my daughter two pairs of jeans at Old Navy. I bought the same cut and size that she was wearing that day, so we didn't try them on. Well, they didn't fit. Rather than go back to Old Navy just before Christmas, I said we'd give the jeans to my niece. My daughter was fine with that.

Yesterday I got the receipt that had been in the Old Navy bag from my sister. She thought I might need it.

Well, I just heard from my sister that the my niece isn't comfortable in the jeans, so she said she'd give them to some girls in her church.

And while in the grand scheme, $25 for two pairs of jeans is no big deal, I wrote back and asked my sister to send me the jeans. I'd used an old gift card of my daughter's to purchase them. And I just figured, if the jeans don't fit my niece, I can find something else at Old Navy for my kid.

Annoyance #1: That Old Navy doesn't seem to have a standard size.

Annoyance #2: That my sister would not offer to send the jeans back to me. (Because that's what I would do if the roles were reversed.)

Am I being uncharitable?
