"Grab-ass-tic" was always one of my favs. 

Cryteria - I came up with this term when asked to formulate uniform judging standards used in international lachrymosity competitions.
I basically came up with a sliding scale for the judges to employ.  From driest to wettest:
Whimperous

Weepy

Sobbish

Blubbery

Bawling

Whaling (leviathan-scaled blubbering)

Waders! (not only indicates the highest level of lachrymosity, but also alerts spectators of the need to don waders due to imminent flooding of the competition venue)
also, the term "crocodilation" was coined to denote insincere tearfulness (see William Hurt in Broacast News)
