Bought some tortillas the other day that turned out to be "Carb Balance," a high fiber thing that's 4 net carbs so looked over the ingredients and it seemed like typical food so I tossed 'em in the basket. Made a taco this morning and knew in the first bite: Splenda. Sure enough, a closer read of the label says hey put fucking SPLENDA in these tortillas. Down at the end of the list where it's usually just "contains 2% or less of:" dough conditioners and sucralose. There's no call for that. None.
I didn't realize that tortillas would have to be sweetened at all. - sugar or fake sugar. I guess the wheat ones are not as sweet as the corn ones. And yes, that Splenda stuff tastes disgusting.
what?
splenda in a tortillo?
i'm not even sure how you get there...
edit:
There is no expiration date required on either SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Granulated or Packet products. These products are very stable and can remain in your home for years without losing sweetness. However, they should be stored in a cool dry place to avoid moisture.

Some lowlife sideswiped my youngest's pickup sometime last night. Her pride and joy that she's had for only a couple of months. Fixable, but man, hit 'n' runs torque me off but good.
Aaaaaaaand, in a stunning turn of events, I was walking up to the house to grab lunch just a bit ago and the guy came by with his insurance info. Had a sob story about loaning out his truck, and I suspect shenanigans, but at least he's trying to make it right.
agreed
he could have just blown this off
but maybe he found out who you were and didn't want to chance it

That'll do. Still a letdown that it happened at all. I agree with the shenanigans but everyone's got cameras these days, so why risk a criminal complaint?
In not-pissed-off-level-but-still-annoying-level related news, my video doorbell was confused by all of the heavy wind and snow and did NOT capture the incident.

That is pretty stunning but it appears to be a somewhat positive turn.
Definitely. I didn't get a chance to really inspect the damage to my daughter's truck this morning as it was still dark when she left for school, but after seeing the truck that hit it (full size Dodge with rear bumper nearly torn off from the impact) , I think she actually got lucky there wasn't a lot more damage.

The email marketing "genius" who has somehow convinced vendors across the planet that sending more than one email per day is a "great" marketing strategy. Big hint: If I didn't want to buy anything from you at 10 o'clock in the morning, I don't want to buy anything from you by 11. Or noon. Or at any of the other multiple times per day you're emailing me. If you want to email me once a day, I'll deal with that, but more than that and I'm unsubscribing from your GD list and will endeavour to never buy anything from you ever again because, frankly, you're too stupid to be in business.

Yeah, that happened to P's Mazda one evening when we stopped to vote. Probably some asshat without insurance.

The state park where we go cabin camping every year from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, until the Saturday after, jacked up our reservation when we made it last year.
They contacted R_D today to see where we were... why hadn't we checked in yet??
THEY BOOKED US FOR YESTERDAY.
SO now, our annual escape to the woods, that we relish so, and look forward to every year like nothing else all year long, is canceled.
Yeah, but you can use the rest of what you'd have spent and it'll go further at home!

Heah in 'Freedum-luvin' TexAss we're regulated as to how much solar we can have, where and when. Big business ties run thick as oil 'round heah. Governor Abbott won't allow any municipality in the State to raise the minimum wage either. Or expand medicaid. Underfunds schools so that homeowners are paying nearly 3% of their homes worth in property taxes every year. The County Tax Appraisal offices have become police states. Yet the Governor parades himself as a 'Christian.'
Just Selective Morality at its cruelest.
Thnx for the commiseration my Ozzie cousin. We've always got barbee and beer, eh?

Obtaining a $198.58 credit on my electric bill, only to have it wiped out by an 'accidental' transfer of an outstanding balance from another address for $196.99. It was all so fubar, too many obtuse 'reps' lacking critical thinking skills, that I just gave up, closed that account and began another. #1. Out nearly $200 and #2 How long will this last
Ouch. I've been running a credit on my electric bill since I installed solar panels about 8 years ago. I really should get them to send me a cheque for the balance
