The percentage of women in Congress is way low. Women currently in office, as well as a historical summary of women of color in Congress and a list of percentages of women in the U.S. Congress from 1917 to the present.
Wouldn't it be nice if we never had to think about this again? Maybe we will even have a woman prez in 2016.
I am voting for one this year, how bout you?

I don't know if they are, or not. To me, eliminating sexism isn't about keeping score regarding how many x chromosomes wear judicial robes vs. how many y chromosomes. If we are truly non-prejudiced, we shouldn't care what the sex, or sexual orientation, or race of any applicant is. We should want to appoint the most qualified applicants regardless of their race, sex, orientation, etc.

You are exactly what he's talking about. So much of what Obama does is in lockstep with Bush policies or is taken note for note from the Republican playbook, but you won't give him credit for any of it. His ideal version of healthcare reform probably didn't involve one iota of what wound up in the ACA but he went to Romneycare, he went to ideas originally promoted by the Heritage Foundation, people like Newt, and pieced together ACA from those sources. And his reward for that is to be branded a socialist. Here's another blog post that takes off from the same Thomas Frank article:

He's probably right to hide it. Maybe this will get some laws changed so it's no longer illegal in some states to transport alcohol across state lines - or drink your home brew outside your home...
