Don't underestimate your kids! Mine have loved a lot of the same movies I have. Les Triplettes de Belleville; any Miyazaki epic; Flyaway Home; Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; anything with Jackie Chan or Fred Astaire or the Marx Brothers in it; and any number of somewhat obscure indie flicks have been huge hits at our house. Our rules are somewhat different from most households. We let our kids watch anything they want as long as we watch it together. No lasting damage, and the kids grew up to have broad tastes and are fun to talk to about movies.

Thanks for the warning... :) I don't know about Madagascar 2...(well I didn't see the first), but I would love to see Ratatouille and the new Bond film! Daniel Craig and his uglysexy...

Not exactly an edge-of-your-seat plot, but wholly endearing.
It isn't for everyone...there isn't a ton of dialog and non-stop action. It's a gem for independent film lovers who don't expect blockbuster production for every movie.

I would be even more impressed with actors performing it live.... The writer actually made a prequel and a sequel, but I might skip those....seems unnecessary to know what happened before or after.

HungerThe last six weeks of the life of the Irish republican hunger striker Bobby Sands, This is a must see movie, just out in the cinemas here in the UK. Extremely accurate account of that time. I can't recommend this movie highly enough Michael fassbender as Sands is the best performance I've seen since David Thewlis in Mike leigh's Naked, My favourite ever performance from an actor.
