I haven't posted here in a while because I had a major setback and some pretty devastating news. When I switched to my last job, their insurance didn't cover weight loss so I was unable to keep up with my monthly maintenance appointments with my surgeon so my band wasn't adjusted properly and I started gaining some weight back. I finally went back and paid for the appointment on my own because I wasn't happy with my progress and after a few appointments, tests and procedures, it was determined that my band has a leak. UGH. I felt devastated and helpless, especially since I couldn't afford to have the surgery to repair it. In addition, my surgeon was semi-retiring and another surgeon was going to be taking over his patients.

Fast forward a few months and long story short, I have insurance again (thank FSM) so I went to the new surgeon. I liked him a lot and a girl who worked for my former surgeon works for him now so she's familiar with my situation and has been working with my insurance to get everything approved so that I can have the surgery on November 13th. I'm not looking forward to another surgery but I'm looking forward to getting back on track, especially since I'll be in a wedding dress in 7 months.  I was a model patient and did so well after my first surgery because, for me, I find it much less difficult to make better choices when I'm not hungry or constantly craving food, and I'm able to feel satisfied after a small meal. So I'm looking forward to this next chapter involving a happier, healthier...and married...me.
