Truncated. All trimmings cancelled. Get on with the business of nominating, get back to the hotel, drink The Mccallan and listen to the Voice of God booming from the mouth of the Ol' Mississip.

Yes I'd like to have what's in it but now that I've seen that bottle I'd have a hard time telling myself I wasn't drinking perfume from a Fronch ho-house.
The bottle is tragically awful.

No, you wouldn't. I've had 12 year-old McCallan - nectar of the gods, man.

The perfume would be cheaper. And pouring scotch from a French decanter is just so, well, déclassé.

(Real unfortunate about those folks in Mississippi and Alabama though.) Huricane Gustav - God must not want John McCain to win if he's going to interupt the convention! on the other hand, McCain didn't let katrina spoil his birthday!

A friend who's a columnist for the Washington Post and in town to cover the convention tells me that many of the parties this week are being toned down or canceled because the Republican leaders can't afford to be seen partying while Hurricane Gustav inundates New Orleans. I suspect this won't hurt sales of the $525-a-shot scotch brought in for the convention. Plutocrats will have their pleasures.
