Square Shooters Eating House - Rawlins, Wyoming
"An unusual restaurant for respectable people" Catering to famished travelers, hungry hunters, families, large or small; overworked clerks and Ranch hands, soft hearted salesmen and kindly mechanics; overtaxed business and even that sweet little schoolmarm. This eating house has something for everyone with hospitality for good measure. "No Hard Liquor Sold"

Interesting postcard - it appears to be on a slight hill and the photographer must have set up his camera on a tripod level with the street.  I wonder if this place still exists.  At least they took BankAmericard and Master Charge.  Odd Fellows Temple upstairs?
*edit:  Oh, it's closed down

This place
was the best restaurant in Rawlins (dubious distinction), just right around the corner. Sadly, also closed.

Best part of the article is that they have a picture of the actual inflatable snowman.

I suspect alcohol was not the only intoxicating substance involved.  She looks like a real "live wire" (as they used to say); nice eyebrows though.  That is a pretty scary-looking snowman, but not as dangerous as she looks.

Is there something you fly-over folks want to confess to us snotty East Coast elites? Is putting people in the trunks of cars and driving away an assertion of daring rugged individualism, like rodeo or chewing Red Man Plug?

No. Putting people in trunks is an Arizona thing, like turquoise belt buckles. In fact, riding around inside the car at all is for wimps.
“ Akin said he laid on the floor with his girlfriend all day trying to recall what had happened the night before because they had drank a lot of alcohol.”

...and then he thought, "Hey! I'll drive 500 miles to Powell, WY because..." ?

Well, like he said, he forgot.

i had a '71 lesabre. you could fit 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a dead body in the trunk and still have room for 1/2 the ohio state marching band.

If it was a '73 LeSabre there was a seatbelt for everybody up front and a glove box full of Steve Miller 8-tracks.

Come to think of it...I'd ride in the trunk too.

Um...bravo for taking care of the dogs, but...whose kids are those? Where were they getting different kids to haul back? Who says "Hey, my kids need a ride to Arizona. Got room in your trunk?"

Now if they had started the trip on the seat and did the "Mom! He's on my side of the hump!" thing I could see it...

I had the same questions. Sort of envisioned a "these kids are really irritating, I think I'll get some different ones for the return trip" scenario.
