Most laws regulate some aspect of human behavior. So, from that perspective, all laws impinge freedom in some sense. I could ask "please define freedom", but I do not want to engage in the very lengthy and philosophical discussion that avenue will require. But I will categorically say that I do not see anarchy (total individual self-control within a society or community) as being the least bit viable.

Our neighborhood prohibits fireworks. This is essentially because we're in the dry season and the acreage here is heavily wooded. I'll take a little law over a visit from the counties finest firefighters, and the subsequent loss of property and most likely loss of life, too. Doesn't bother me a bit.

Not where we live. I didn't hear a single gunshot or home made explosive device go off last night.

Fireworks are illegal in Georgia, but guns sure aren't! Sounded like a war zone all night, I am pretty sure someone at one point was firing a 50 cal maching gun!
