I found it amazing that my iPod picked this TWICE in one week........one of my favorites from the 80s (was never a hit—which is often a good thing).
The party's over I never thought you'd stay The love of laughter My truth's no longer sane The party's over Much older than you'd say This friend of no one Time, creases on your face
Take a look at the kids I've been losing track This crime of being uncertain Of your love Is all I'm guilty of
The party's over I never thought you'd stay A style of reason This life of masquerade
Take a look at the kids I've been losing track This crime of being uncertain Of your love Is all I'm guilty of
Take this punishment away Lord Name the crime I'm guilty of Too much hope I've seen as virtue Name the crime I'm guilty of
I don't EVER recall hearing this (and I am the 80s queen!) - great song, thank you for posting!

Yep, love that song. And I'd love to see again the film that was based on the song. I can't remember if it had the same title, but it starred "Sheriff Rosco P. Coaltrain".

For some reason(s), I hear that song pretty often. I still love it though. One song on my mp3 player which I never hear elsewhere is "My Name Is Jack" by Manfred Mann. Granted, it could be considered a silly song, but it's still a personal favorite. I used to play it for my son when he was a baby, and he still loves it and sings it at age 5.
