I don't think that's from the USA for some reason. I started out thinking it was a bottle of George Dickel, then decided vodka, then settled on it being some sort of ouzo.

Those socks, tho.

If they go through the dishwasher the gold disappears. I have a really cool carafe from my grandmother that is the same blue / gold but the blue is dancing/drinking poodles. The gold on that one is long gone, but it's so funky and from my grandma, so it will always stay.

The amoeba's are mostly in really good shape, the starburst are a mixed bag. But we use them all the time. I love the dings and scratches on them - character, and it fits with my motto - use things, love people.  There is also a place here that collects and sells all kinds of vintage stoneware. They usually have a box of starburst that is too beat up for the collectors, so he makes me a deal on them.

How cool is that????  I have 4 dinner plates (which were a gift from a friend), 4 small plates, a platter, a serving dish, salt and pepper shakers, and some cups and saucers in that pattern.

We bought the gold-free glasses at a junk store, already stripped of their glory..... it wasn't until later that we realized half of the design was missing.....
And Grandma's carafe is a precious thing.... I get that!

Nice catch - those are pretty cool glasses.  I think those bottles and glasses in the original photo just appear so large from a photographic distortion and the table may be closer than it seems to the camera and not as close to the people.  Everything on the table looks larger in comparison to the people, even the cigarette packs.

Pretty sure P would gut you like a fish for those. That's her favorite pattern.

I'll put you in the estate plan, but there will be a clause about you getting nothing if I'm gutted like a fish.

Yeah, they look like pint bottles; I can't figure out the brand* but they're smoking Pall Malls.  They have some fancy drinking glasses too and someone on the front of the table had a martini.  Larger picture here.

I should backscroll. And yes, these are 12 oz but I see they were also offered in "half-quart" bottles.

I inherited some really high quality crystal wine glasses from my parents but they are tiny and very out of fashion now with our ladidah capture the aroma in a fish bowl connoisseur habits. So I have repurposed them as Nick and Nora cocktail glasses. You can finish your drink while it is still cold.

The tubs of sugar that pass for cocktails these days usually don't have much more alcohol, though.

That was  great era for drinkware. I've had several really cool sets. I usually cycle through them - you can find bargains on them now and then and there is enough demand that you can always offload them later. Oddly everyone seems to think they are super collectable/valuable, but only a few sets really are.

Yeah, P and I are all about cruising second-hand shops/antique stores and picking up vintage glasses and crockery. She's into having miss-matched everything. We're at the point now where I won't let her buy anymore unless we give up an equal number; we got no more room.

Lily casually flicked her candy cigarette while flirting with the stranger at the party, unaware that the 'F' stood for father - the new head of the seminary.  The scandal would soon engulf the whole town.
