Boss was very well known in the profession. At one point, someone put together a short biography of my father. After the professional stuff it said, "Peter was an avid fisherman and some of his catches were renowned across the country."

At the age of 14 and on an 11 day, ~175 mile canoe trip in the Kipawa Reserve of NW Quebec, I drove a Flatfish hook into my scalp.

The trip leader sat there for several minutes sharpening his knife preparing to operate on me.  I suggested he use a razor blade; he did.   The hook came out nice 'n easy.  I did not feel a thing, likely due to the sparsity of nerve endings in the scalp.   None of us had degrees in medicine.

These days squeezing the barb flat and fishing barbless all the time makes removing hooks so, so much easier.   These days I insist on all my fishing partners fishing barbless.

It has been confirmed by the MD Department of Natural Resources that the 94.6 pound cobia caught by nine-year-old Emma Zajdel of Ocean City has indeed set the new Maryland state record for cobia.  Emma caught the big cobia on the evening of June 30 and weighed the fish at the certified scale at Sunset Marina on July 1.  Emma’s fish shattered the old state record of 79 pounds set in 2014.

The fish is twice as big as the kid.{#Lol}

 I've got friends telling me the Shenandoah and North Potomac really rocked this weekend and I can't walk, much less wade.

  These so called friends told me this to torment me. {#Fire}
