So...Day before yesterday I started having a little cough and yesterday it was markedly worse and it was now accompanied by a flu like feeling. We had some tests here at the house and sure enough the guy who wears a mask everywhere other people are tested positive. I immediately went into quarantine and masking around the family. They both tested negative last night and have no symptoms at all so hoping they are safe. I'm in my bedroom which is forcing L out to one of the couches overnight. When I stand up I almost fall because of that weak kitten flu feeling. This shit is for real. Good thing I've had both boosters or it may have already done me in. The cough is now deep in my right lung with a lovely rattle to accompany it. I spent about an hour with my mom. fully masked, and was notified that she had covid the next day. I never got too close or right in her face. She wasn't masked but I was, albeit a paper surgical mask...First symptoms 9 days after visit...Thanks mom.
Please excuse any grammar or spelling errors and the general rambling. Cheers!

Sorry man. This strain is seriously contagious. We both got it, and we are pretty careful (and hermits too). We both had the cough too - that part hangs on.  Plaxlovid did help L (but she hated it).

Ah crap, R. Hope you start feeling better soon!  I hardly know of anyone now who gets hospitalised due to having it. The vaccines seem to be doing their job brilliantly.

I have been very careful but still got it.

Feel quite shitty but not ER level shitty. Wide spectrum of symptoms so was not surprised.
I hope the reports of vaccines working to mitigate serious illness are true!
