Here I am again in this mean old town
And you're so far away from me
Now where are you when the sun goes down
You're so far away from me

You're so far away from me
So far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
All right

I'm tired of being in love and being all alone
When you're so far away from me
I'm tired of making out on the telephone
'Cause you're so far away from me

You're so far away from me
You're so far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
All right

And I get so tired when I have to explain
When you're so far away from me
See you've been in the sun and I've been in the rain
And you're so far away from me

You're so far away from me
You're so far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
Check it out

So far away
You're so far away from me
(You're so far)
All right
(You're so far)
Yes, you're so far away from me

As a traveler for many years , this is exactly right!!!
My favourite "Sofa" song!
soo tired
I remember being amazed by the sound quality of this record. I think it was the first time I saw a DDD CD.
Absolute ten.

A 9, for me and a 6 for Money for nothing...

Sure Go Ahead and Make Me Feel Old....... I was 31 ----- Now I'm 67
unforgetable song....
Thanks RP.
Was this lost down the back of the sofa for 11 years?!

I like other Dire Straits songs, but I've never really cared for this one all that much. The guitar work so evident in "Sultans of Swing" and other songs just isn't there on this one, and there's nothing to really make it stand out to me.

After this album  . . . it was an unfortunate slide - not withstanding MK will always be a total music genius!

You gotta be anonymous to post something so ridiculous.
Wow!
Knopfler's guitar always makes my ears vibrate in a most pleasing way...
Very groovy
this one brings me home every time

123K
Voice - 5     Guitar - 9
this song makes me melt - in a good way.
Love this for the feeling it gives me and the memories - whilst I appreciate its not for everyone.
I tend to listen to RP and log in when hubby's away. Oh yes. Sigh. A 10.
This is one of the weaker songs on the album.  So it's an 8.
Thanks for dusting this one off, BillG!  Instant 9 based on nostalgia reasons from this entire album.  Long Live RP!!

And you are... Mr. deaf?
This might be my least favorite Dire Straits song. No wait...there was that one about the shoes...no wait...that was solo Knopfler. Yep. This is my least favorite Dire Straits song.
That will be an all-time favorite in 50 years or even more.
OK, I suddenly like it, as my girlfriend is far away from me, funny thing, the human mind ;)

Bring back memories of Grade 9 Junior Band for folk like me who have never played an instrument before... good stuff!!!
Agree with Polecat. Sick to death of hearing this. Every store and restaurant plays it too.
I love anything by Knopfler, however, almost anything else he has done is better, but then again, I guess it wouldn\'t go with the long distance relationship motif that we are listening to. I do like the thematic expression Bill uses, even if they are repeats sometimes. (pimp)
\"I\'m tired of making out on the telephone\"...the man has a way with words!
Play it!
This song gets alot of air time here on the local stations. Definitely burned out on this one.
\"Workmanlike\" is an adjective that frequently comes to mind when hearing Dire Straits.
