I like the way your sparkling earrings lay
Against your skin so brown
And I wanna sleep with you in the desert tonight
With a billion stars all around

'Cause I got a peaceful easy feeling
And I know you won't let me down
'Cause I'm already standing on the ground

And I found out a long time ago
What a woman can do to your soul
Ah, but she can't take you any way
You don't already know how to go

And I got a peaceful, easy feeling
And I know you won't let me down
'Cause I'm already standing on the ground

I get this feeling I may know you
As a lover and a friend
But this voice keeps whispering in my other ear
Tells me I may never see you again

'Cause I get a peaceful easy feeling
And I know you won't let me down
'Cause I'm already standing, I'm already standing
Yes I'm already standing on the ground

What he said. Always reminds me of the woman I might have married.

Well, I tried.

I have a similar memory with this song, sat on the side of an Oregon highway, far away from home and any care in the world.  Of course in a few short months I'd start the first of several breakups with that gal and by now more than 20 years later I can listen to this one again and almost not think of her.
9 rated and LLRP !!

You got me.  10. No plays in last 30 days... That's why I have it my favorites. A beautiful song fronted by Glen. RIP indeed.

Just did the same.
We used to do this back when it first came out. Unfortunately the lead singer always miffed the words on purpose and sang "This voice keeps whispering in my underwear."!
Do it again.  More Eagles!
terrible distortion on this copy, sounds like a rip from a worn LP- centre ok but BVs hard left and guitar hard right are awfully fried.
I've gotta slightly queasy feeling
and I know you let me down
'cause I'm already laying on the ground
The memories .... if only I could remember them.
1972.
Man oh man . . . .
💯 for me - every time - it helps me to relax. 🎩

Why has this great tune only have three comments? Newer addition, I think? I, for one, am glad to hear great tunes here, regardless of their original mainstream popularity. Thanks, Bill. Another all-time favorite classic. Sure, it was an over-played easy listening staple. But, it's  still a 10.

RIP Glen

What?
Never played?
Simple as it is, it's a country rock classic.
And a good song.
