i thanked god when i noticed that the beach boys were no longer played on any corporate radio stations.... then, i forgot that they even exsisted, and it was good. little did i know they would jump out of obscurity and remind me of how bad they are/were/will always be. the beach boys are the embodiment of pop, useless fluff that is neither original nor emotional, just formulas rehashed.

WRONG!!   GREAT TUNE!    Get a life!!

Not exactly eclectic, is it?
This is crappy music, no matter how happy and tan it might make you feel.

Legal trivia-- Chuck Berry sued the Boys when this song came out for ripping the tune from his "Sweet Little Sixteen". Supposedly the settlrment was that Chuck gets a piece of the royalties everytime this song is played/purchased, whatever. Way to go, Chuck! :2dancingbananas:

i agree. they put some really interesting music out in '71 & '72 that nobody plays. i wish bill would play "don't go near the water", "long promised road", "disney girls", "feel flows", "till i die", "surfs up", "california" or "funky pretty". come on, please bill.
Love this song!
what the hell?
Wax your Long Board and catch the BIG ONE and try to hang ten and not kill yourself :D And for anyone on the North Shore, ride fast and free and kick out before it kicks you ;)
Maybe .001% of the world\'s population has ever surfed, but it\'s probably in the consciousness of more than 25%, and this song has greatly contributed to this.
