Thank you for the link. Wonderful. Morricone was the greatest. Composing scores is an art for itself and yes, wahwah-girls exist.

Video was most excellent! Thanks =:)

Love how the cat manages to look like both Wallach *and* Van Cleef.
THESE GUYS DID THE BEST JOB with this GLORIOUS soundtrack music. Just SO GREAT. Just wow.
Here are the lyrics:

Yum! Yum! Yum! Eggos!

"The Good" doesn't apply. Two out of three ain't bad.

Not quite.  This is an honest rendition but it's a little lighter in tone, and nothing matches the original.

Beauty depends on the eye of the beholder - I actually like this version more than I like the original.  BUT that is just me splitting hairs, because I love both.  As with all great pieces of music, when talented musicians and musical directors put their spin on it, the song still appeals to listeners.

My Gawd! That is magnificent!!

Agreed - but the DNSO has a tradition of 'lighter' covers of well known 'popular' music.
I'm impressed.Skøl!
Yeah but then there's this!

Morricone has scored 500 movies and you keep playing this one tune over and over, it is really annoying, please broaden your horizons and play something from Duck you sucker or Once upon a time …

This song has an average rating of 8, which is very high. Bill, being a good DJ, walks a fine line between the new and interesting and what his audience likes. There are a number of songs in heavy rotation that I don't care for. That's radio.
I was thinking the same thing, but maybe it playing once every 2-3 days.  The 30 day count above says 4, though.  I wonder if there are different versions in rotation.
How often do we need to hear this? It plays at least once a day and is annoying.
I didn't know I needed this until now :o)
These three pictures of the Italian type look odd but the costumes and such are taken from contemporary sources and so are actually more realistic than domestic versions!

I just watched the video on YouTube. Thank you to the RPers who suggested doing so. It's great.--Long live RP! And Bill!

Was the movie as weird as the song? I think we are so accustomed to the song that we forget how truly odd it is (which is one of the main reasons I love it).
Yeah, it was pretty weird. Couple of not-entirely-upstanding citizens stumble upon a dying soldier with a tale of a fortune. A fortune a number of people, including the US military, is after. In the dying days of the Civil War.
Hilarity ensues.

mind blown - amazing!
I suggest you see the full Youtube video, since this fantastic performance makes me proud to be Danish. Despite I am not always content paying tax, and better like to pay to Radio Paradise, this is one of the situation where I am happy for contribution to the Danish national art scene. The Danish National Symphony Orchestra have other great performances - The Hobbit, Bladerunner, Pink Panther, Interstellar, Game of Thrones, Kill Bill, Hollow talk and many more

Ahhh...but is the great granddaddy of the entire genre. I still recall seeing it on the big screen when I was about 10 years old. This music still brings me back to that epic cinematic experience. If  recall,  it was quite a long movie as well. When it was over,  it felt as if I had just cmpleted an exhausting but exhilarating journey.  Beats the heck out of the comic book movies of today, in my humble opinion.
Bra! :o)

Nope. It's short (2:38) but not shortened.

Thanks for this video clip, drewd!  Every time this song plays, or I mention Clint Eastwood's name, my wife starts laughing, remembering the shifty-eyed cat

This is the absolute first time I've seen an orchestra use an Ocarina. Great stuff!

You might enjoy the 'Sad Hill Unearthed' documentary, which follows a group of GB&U enthusiasts who spent years reconstructing the cemetery set for the 50th anniversary of the movie. (Currently on Netflix in US.) Includes an interview with Ennio Morricone. 'Sad Hill Unearthed' documentary

Yes lighter in tone, less forceful and the reason for this can clearly be seen on Youtube.

Many of the orchestra playing this is female - nothing wrong with that as such but the inevitable consequence is that some of the overtly macho nature of the original is missing.

C'est la vie.

So basically what you're saying is:
"You see, there are two kinds of people... "?
;-)

Disagree. Watch it on Youtube. Amazing. I think they do it complete justice, and then some.

I wouldn't have known this except that you mentioned it. Because unlike some, I can't hear the gender of people who are playing an instrumental piece. What a wonder you are.

Reminds me of my childhood and watching this at a Triple Feature at a theatre in Miami.

They are doing a fantastic live job with soundtracks. Even the master Morricone himself doesn't recreate his songs so faithful. Check them out on YT.

I would love to see an Orchestra perform this
Finally something really not boring! It's weird but not the same old over and over  rhythms and juvenile lyrics.....
