IDK!  Philly had Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Dizzie Gillespie, Jerry Mulligan, Benny Golson, Stan Getz among many others! ...NYC!...........,  GREAT TUNE!!  Thanx RP!
It's a marvelous night for a Moondance.

I used to listen to "Eric In The Evening" with Eric Jackson in Boston. He started on the legendary WBCN rock station and would mix jazz in with the rock 'n' roll during his air shift. He then moved to one of the local NPR affiliates and carried on with a show by the same name but strictly jazz. I loved it. And apparently he's still at it: https://www.wgbh.org/jazz/eric... And streaming! I'll have to revisit the show.

RIP Eric Jackson, 9/17/22. 😟
RP has only 2 tunes by him on the playlist.  PLEASE ADD MORE!!  Thank You!

Kenny.....SMOOTH!!!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!

Killing it on a Tuesday afternoon, Bill and Rebecca! Happy New Year and thanks for helping me to get out of a funk - music is a balm for the soul.
If you don't have this record, buy this record.
1963, the year I was born! What a great recording. It just proves all you need is know-how, not technology, at least if the artist is worth recording to begin with...
They invented the word "cool" after this song came out.

Thanks for the link.  Listened for a while but the screaming trumpet improv  drove me back to RP....no PSD...

Nice reprise of a very tight group.

                               YOU get a 3.

Humor impairment alert!!

You get a 2!

For a few bars I thought this was a "Moondance (Van Morrison)" cover...

Great tune. Love it.
Kind of stretching it as "World and Eclectic", lol; but nice to hear any time, for sure.

Not to point any fingers, but... I know some real COOL CATS

Also, great graphic design on the cover. And no computers involved! To my young designer friends, see it WAS possible.

These are, oddly enough, the same chords for "Whipping Post." When I was playing, in a former lifetime, the two songs fused quite seamlessly.

I am impressed that you were in a band that played a version of Whipping Post that segued into Midnight Blue!  -  "Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin'...."  >>   Intro into Midnight Blue... (I can hear it in my mind's ear!)
Sorry I never got to hear you guys play it!!

Any help Bill?

Well it's a marvelous night for a moon dance...
This seems to have been an inspiration for Van Morrisson.
Just switched on and heard this gem.  This is why I listen to and support RP.

My new standard, by which, I will henceforth judge all comments: One should frequently include the phrase "when I was learning to drink scotch".  This will, inherently add an unsurpassed level of gravitas to any comment.
Bravo Ser TerryS!
In the pocket!!!
This song just makes your body sway!  Where are my shades!
