This combination
Is stone dead cold
What's that sound
Don't step down
We're out of patience
Same ol', same ol'

What's that sound
Don't turn around
Take my hand
Cover the land
This situation
Calls for a confrontation
And a delivery
To end the misery
Now hear that sound
Go turn your world around
Take me to
The top of the world
Take me up to bring me down

This combination
Is stone dead cold
What's that sound
Don't step down
We're out of patience
Same ol', same ol'

What's that sound
Don't turn around
Our time is due
Black and blue
There's no moderation
To this abomination
Quite positively
This war is still inside of me
Now hear that sound
Go turn your world around
Take me to
The top of the world
Take me up to bring me down

All this time we've been hiding in bed
Trying to get the images out of our heads
And you know it's true, you've always said
Stand up tall or you're better off dead

This combination
Is stone dead cold
What's that sound
Don't step down
We're out of patience
Same ol', same ol'

What's that sound
Don't turn around
We're fighting battles solitaire
Ginger Rogers Fred Astaire
We're no one's unique specialty
A disposable commodity
We try our best to make sense
Tossed salad, bacon, eggs
This is how we'll make it end
The tower falls, the blue man's dead
Take me to
The top of the world
Take me up to bring me down

All I ask is...Bill, WHY?

Because Bill likes it, I guess. And so do I.

I guess it's okay for a kid's party song perhaps- but not really music for adults.

You'll excuse me if I don't take your word for that.

Puts me in mind of Gogol Bordello.

This is not a compliment.

The tune is not particularly bad, and the singer is alright but, one of the instruments I don't like... an organ-like sound... an accordion perhaps?.

to me, the accordion is like a fine single malt scotch; an acquired taste.  Or if you're raised on Polkas.

That said, I was liking the comping from the accordion, and wanted to rate this track a 7, but it kinda lost me in the "rap" section...so i'll rate a 6 and see what happens next time I hear it.

A new genre: Pissed Off Polka.
Rage Against The Pierogis
The tune is not particularly bad, and the singer is alright but, one of the instruments I don't like... an organ-like sound... an accordion perhaps?.
Loved it since the first time I heard it, and it keeps getting better.
Terrible in every way

It does have a late-night drunken Russian feel, doesn't it?

Always get a childish thrill when I rate the song higher than the RP average—and the RP average moves up 0.1 as a result!

No. But thanks for your comment on my Leonard Cohen comment. I'm still scratching my head on that one.

Sounds like these guys just learned English the week before recording this.

mrselfdestruct nailed it.
I kept expecting that guy from Gogol Bordello to start singing... but then, as before, I am pleasantly surprised — and well mystified by it
This actually causes me anxiety now. Mala Vita should self immolate.
I like this more and more each time I hear it.

Spot on! And actually I do not mind the Gogol Bordello but this shit..

This is like Red Hot Chili Peppers minus the originality, the funk, the guitars and the talent while adding bad vocals, horrible lyrics and an accordion.

Sounds like these guys just learned English the week before recording this.
Let's be kind and give this a 3.
Where's the Numa-Numa guy when you need him?

{#Bounce}a bit like the romaniacts digging the accordian
Am I missing something here?
A restrained version of Gogol Bordello, it sounds like. Intriguing and maybe a grower. 6 from the intrigued Nottingham jury.

HUh Hoh

It's funny the reaction and comments, which some jocks, addicts of the indies-pops-urban.....

By the way, to say that the whole album is amazing, a fusion of various styles and sounds of universal character from various parts of the world.

Not to be impertinent, say can't understand the tastes of some Americans, or perhaps yes, wait for the options of forthcoming elections ........

They play Musica mestizo/crossover, like Mano Negra and they like the Clash. A mix of Balkan, reggae, ska, punk and latin. They sing in Spanish, Italian, English, Bosnian, Serbian.

I feel like I'm lost in a disco in the dark recesses of never, never land

This is unpleasant.
A mix between Franz Ferdinand and I don't know who...
I agree with every negative comment - WTF
All I ask is...Bill, WHY?
It seems like this is played every day! wth?
had to read the lyrics on this to check it wasn't quite as inane as I first thought.  I think it was the line:

take me to the top of the world
take me up to bring me down

that was an instant groan. dunno, lines like that just turn me off immediately.

Please don't play music like this, you let yourselves down...
as for me - too simple
