Well, I had me a boy, turned him into a man
I showed him all the things that he didn't understand
Whoa, and then I let him go

Now, there's one in California who's been cursing my name
'Cause I found me a better lover in the UK
Hey, hey, until I made my getaway

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

I had a summer lover down in New Orleans
Kept him warm in the winter, left him frozen in the spring
My, my, how the seasons go by

I get high, and I love to get low
So the hearts keep breaking, and the heads just roll
You know that's how the story goes

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
'Cause I'm the best baby that they never gotta keep
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go

My ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
Climbing over mountains and a-sailing over seas
One, two, three, they gonna run back to me
They always wanna come, but they never wanna leave

My ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go

Ex's and the oh, oh, oh's they haunt me
Like ghosts they want me to make 'em all
They won't let go
Ex's and oh's

Please Bill play this song again
Nasty little song.

I like it.

+1 to 8 today so it'll play in "My Favorites" - it's fun and naughty, LLRP

Fun song! I'm really glad to year you play this here - 9
what a fun tune!
Glad RP took this tune onboard.  'Tis a tune.

Not the "deepest" of songs, but how can you not tap your toes....

That may be true but keep in mind that The Beatles and Stones were unquestionably Top 40 acts.

The Beatles - Yes. The Stones not so much. Herald as "bad boys" when the term wasn't cool amongst the adults. The Stones began as a cover band doing old American blues. Yes they ended up with hits but didn't pander to the pop crowd for the first 15 years. The Beatles meanwhile started off as poppy as can be and only after great success decide they decide to try to make "real" music.
In  deference to my Ex's,  this is a catchy song. But the Oh's...

Elle's 15min of Fame
Saw her a couple of years ago in Pittsburgh.  GREAT concert with lots of energy.  Crowd was pumped and she was awesome.
Such a powerful voice. Love this.

PSD ASAP.
Shame about the singer / character's low self esteem.
This is a nice, little, nasty, catchy ditty.

Love this. I thought it was Amy Winehouse.  Why are people calling this pop?  It's total old-school, IMHO.

Oh, that's an easy answer: because it gets played on mainstream radio stations. It's a conflation of pop and popular, which is somewhat (though not totally) unfair.

This is easily my least favorite tic of lots of RP listeners: there's a huge instinct to not like something because lots of other people like it. There's a strong hipster undercurrent to the rejection of songs like this (or this, or this, or this, or this) and it's really, really grating. (Also, in those links you can see that this isn't the first time I've made this point here.)

I don't listen to "pop radio" anymore, so this is my first time hearing Elle King. And...it's just...fun. Thanks Bill. Happy 2017.

Once you're done with that trip, you can start planning a visit to the Donkey Diner on St. John. Eating breakfast there a few years back, I was commenting to my wife that the music mix was great and worthy of RP, only to hear Bill's voice announcement a few tracks later...
Not bad, except for that narrow-band reverb on the vocals that becomes annoying quickly.
Love this. I thought it was Amy Winehouse.  Why are people calling this pop?  It's total old-school, IMHO.
This is just not my kind of music at all. But I like it. I don't listen to "pop" radio stations, so of course I know nothing about this singer or this track. So what? I know what I like, and I'm aware that often there's no accounting for what that might be.

So to those who say this kind of music doesn't belong on RP, I say this: as long as I'm an RP listener, yes it jolly well does!

Now when can we have some JSB?  {#Guitarist}

I'm dancing as I work here. And gotta say the lyrics are great!
Cute and fun.
How a noy noy noy noyying
I like it; my teen daughter hates it. Go figure.

If this hadn't been a hit on the pop charts and just popular in indie/alt-rock circles (agree with the female Black keys comment), I'll bet the sentiment and rating here would be much more favorable.

All of the RP haters when Bill plays something "pop" or whatever ... taken out of context ... it might not be something I have on my heavy rotation playlists.. but I like the flow of RP and 99% of the time it works .. in CONTEXT of the playlist.

Ditto!
I hear that tune every morning at work because they have the radio set to the latest and oldest pop tune hits station.  Same tunes over and over and over and over ad nauseum.
Her voice like Turkish Singer Sibel Can.

A rare Radio Paradise selection that my daughter would agree with.
I can appreciate a good bawdy song as much as the next guy.  This is a bawdy song; it's just not a good one.  I mean, rhyming "Oh-oh-ohs" with "Go-o-ohsts"—is that the best you can come up with?

Her follow-up single, the very Adele-like "Under the Influence," is a lot better.  It could be a Bond movie theme.
This is a huge pop hit, yeah, but the rest of her stuff is pretty growly. She's signed for a supporting slot at Magic City Blues in Billings this summer; might be something we have to check out.

The thing about her being Rob Schneider's daughter: well, he was the donor, anyway. She changed her name to her mother's maiden name because he wasn't really a part of her life. According to the thing I read one time.

Catchy song I must admit, a little poppy for RP though, surprising to hear here.
This is overplayed on pop radio. I thought RP was better than this.

Sometimes music is just fun.  Doesn't have to be great....fun is cool too.

Truly eclectic
It's a very good pop song but I'm surprised to hear this here of all places.

Ah well that made my teenager pop out of her bedroom and dance a bit.
Got my toes tapping!
