I saw them play at the old Mississippi River Festival, near STL.  It was an outdoor venue, modeled after Monterrey.  Great venue. 

This band always had great guitar players.

I am always astounded by how good Heart still sounds almost 45 years later, especially when I remember the stuff on the radio in the late 70s that I thought was good at the time but that is almost unlistenable today. This holds up brilliantly, Nancy's lovely guitar playing and Ann's unique voice.

The band's first album 'Dreamboat Annie' was recorded in a studio here in Vancouver. The sound engineer was a friend of mine. Always felt connected to them....and....loved their stuff!

I always thought that after

as in the professional spotlight brand.

Hey Bill, sorry I gotta tune off for a while and play my vinyl album 'Little Queen'. You keep playing tracks that segue my heart somewhere else. 'Barracuda' was underestimated as the drive behind the whole album - what an intro! By the time I get to 'Sylvan Song' memories of Fleetwood Mac are insignificant. This is a beautiful album. Seattle again!

saw them when they toured after this album. They were a rock n' roll powerhouse back then... they opened up their show at the Omni in Atlanta with a cover of Zepp's "Rock n' Roll".... they delivered the goods and were the queens of rock in my teens, had a crush on Nancy! Loved her cameo scene in her husband Cameron Crowe's  movie "Fast Time's at Ridgemont High"

Nancy Wilson has IMHO never gotten the immense credit she's due for her guitar skills; Heart fans know it, but she just doesn't get mentioned enough elsewhere - stunning talent!

I feel fortunate that I discovered them as soon as they released records, though my friends at that time mostly overlooked them. As is often the case with bands that get commercial airplay, the best music doesn't get on the air. They have some absolute gems, with their musicianship and soaring harmonies. Listening to them on vinyl through a good stereo is just divine.

Working away here with Radio Paradise playing in the background.  Every now and then a song comes on that stops me in my tracks to switch screens and learn the identify of a song....   just the first few bars and I'm hooked.   Love this version... really don't remember hearing it before but really enjoyable.

There is a good rockumentary on their carreer.  They could have been so much more if they would have had the correct producers.

The best of the many one-word named bands of the time, which is admittedly damning them with faint praise.  But I find Heart's songs far more listenable today than most of their contemporaries.
