Come a long way, come a long way
Come a long way
Not to work it out
As cold comfort
wraps around you in the dark
Come a long way

Come a long way
not to ask the question that's been on your lips all the way
Spit it out
The words come out, yeah
it's already
not as heavy as before
Come a long way
Come a long way
Come a long way

Come a long way
Just to say
Doesn't matter when it mattered yesterday
And tomorrow ain't too far
Come a long way
From small beginnings
Come a long way

From small beginnings
Come big ending

it does, agreed.
I have no proof of this, but I think this song is inspired by Bach's Prelude no. 2 in the Well Tempered Clavier.  I love them both.
I don't find this repetitive as much as building and standing still at the same time.  love it.
Sounds a bit like Elbow.
Very cool song!
7 --> 8 for me
Fink is wierd. I like Fink
This is extremely powerful. Meditating to this you almost lose your mind which is a good albeit scary thing.

Thanks Fink
Love this song and the way it builds. I used to travel internationally a lot for work and it became a habit to always play this song as a plane came in to land, so that it was building up to the fast instrumental section as we approached the runway. Became a bit of an obsession. Can't explain why other than superstition, but always believed things would end well as long as this song was playing as we touched down.
Interesting lyric!
sounds like someone who experienced Psycho~therapy!

Reminds me of the old story of the Monkeys Paw.  Be careful what you pray for.  You never know which side is listening....

"The king is a fink!"

You, no doubt, know the reference.  The rest of you - look it up!
V cool
Fink, the best In Bed with your Woman music! Just press 50+

Fink is one band I seek out when I need space.. when the family are noisy, arguing, invasive and I *need* to be alone in a whole other world. I can be found making an excuse to do the dishes in a rather lengthy manner, headphones on, bashing the bread board, enthralled.

I do wish that there was a band called the R's just for that purpose!

I agree. Didn't get Fink at first but now, yeah, what you said.
Finally moved it to a 10.  Stops you in your tracks every time
Stop whatever I'm doing.

Grab the headphones and find a comfortable chair.

Close my eyes and watch the chord changes with my inner eye.

Finally gave it a 10. Just crank up your sound system, lean back and enjoy.
This song is a whole mood. Visceral.

Invest 30-45 Euros in a good pair of wireless headphones and listen to RP's higher quality music streams.  You'll hear the difference immediately.
Giving 8 sun is out feeling generous
Wow - this must have taken all night to write . .
2.

This is where listening to RP on a top-end system makes a huge difference. In other instances I would have found such a song repetitive like everyone else, but there is something in the tension created by the bass and the beat acceleration that definitely takes off at very unexpected moments in the song and give it all its sense, I guess most earplugs can't render that effect. Great tune.

Deep, baby, deep. Outstanding. My friggin' brain just stops and that's a good thing.
sounds a lot like Dave Mathews
I like it. The riff, the rythm, the deapth of the sound. Perhaps it is all simple, but I like it.
Wow, such tension!

I feel like the song is just gradation, but it's nice.

I was thinking Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson.  That's a good thing, IMO.

+1, haven't heard this in a while. Really liking it now. Reminds me a little of Madrugada.
From me only 5 - Decent

Lots of negative comments for this one but I gotta say I kinda like it.

Totally agree
I like this guy.
Great song, I have seen him live on a small stage for a couple of times. What a musician....
Love to hear it on RP...

Brilliant song. Brilliant cd ... also try the song Shakespeare {#Crown}
Whow, what a song.
Never heard of it before.
Thank you, RP {#Cheers}

I'm not so sure about "we", but to my ears this guy's singing gets nowhere near as whiny or screechy as old Davey's dulcet tones.
Sonic trepanning.
Great song.  Enjoying this band.  He grew up in my home town, too, which is neat.  They fit well into the best mix tape ever which is RP.

Spot on, couldn't agree more.
Such a nice sound, just wish it got louder and faster and louder and faster and louder and thrashed its way into to a crescendo of even more raw crashing noise ......
Nauseautingly repetitious, but other than that......
Cant agree with northeast 9 more!! We are 64 and 61 respectively, take a similar musical experience and have RP playing this stuff in the background or upfront continually. This is a great track. Its brilliant. Couple this great range of music with skiing everyday in Austria and we are living the dream. Thanks guys.
Like but a 7 in my opinion - sounds like a 2d version of Elbow.

You guys are the number one station I listen to. I am 62 and I like listening to new music. Most people my age are living with the Beatles and beach boys. Nice but boring. I always thought my old music was the best.. Not so. I have gone back to listen using rdio etc most of the tunes disappoint. It is all about the memories associated with the tunes. The quality of the old sound can't come close. I am listening to Fink... lol great sound. Who would of thought. I also love all the other international music!

Guilt free listening - just set it up to have a little something come out automatically every month for the RP.  Painless and guilt free!
Wonderful!{#Roflol}
Three plays in Three days.   Overkill or what !

I was thinking this sounds like if you mixed Muse together with Elbow.

Hints of The Cure's Forest here.......
Wow, great.
From small beginings come even smaller endings. Originally gave it a 4 but it aint worth even that.
I think I like this song well enough, but after listening to it a few times, I get the sense of a big build up that kinda goes nowhere. Bit of let down then.

Anyone else?
good album {#Music}
7 -> 8
Nice.
This song means the world to me.

Come a long way,
just to say
it doesn't matter

and tomorrow ain't too far.

Yeah, come a long way...

Thanks Bill for introducing me to Fink. This song helps me a lot.
Wow, never heard of Fink. Thanks, Bill!

I feel it's very Elbow-like in that the constituent parts are there to create a song but I really don't like it.  Feels like nothing fits together and the monotonous strum is not producing the effect it is supposed to.  Well at least I hope that isn't what they were going for.

Not even close on any level
verry nice, I like..  9 -> 10
The beginning sounded like Richie Havens at Woodstock getting Here Comes The Sun going.

A great beginning with a small disappointing middle and ending.

Give it a 5 first listen.

And visa-versa.
Man, they get it... Hypnotic. Bypasses the conscious focal point and goes into the soul, an Anschauung, Baby!

I have to stop what I'm doing when I hear this song. It deserves a full attention listening. And it brings to something profound. Don't know how else to say this.

"Ceasingly repetitive"?  Good band name.
excellent guitar work especially the acoustic, and a mysterious driving beat. I like it.
The repetition makes me look forward to the ending, big or otherwise.

I'm digging this. Sounds like Elbow and/or Gomez to some degree.
 new Fink!!! {#Hearteyes}
I like this a lot, 8 for me.
Brilliant!
Cool, thank you!
Fink? Guy can carry a tune but his band is either unconcerned or perhaps on heroin. I'd say his rating is 4 = "Doesn't suck too bad."
Wooaaaooow, Fink making a great effort... well, an effort, to articulate his words!!!  Only for this, he deserves a 7 here.
