In a church by the face
He talks about the people going under
Only child know
A man decides after seventy years
That what he goes there for
Is to unlock the door
While those around him criticize and sleep
And through a fracture on that breaking wall
I see you my friend and touch your face again
Miracles will happen as we trip
But we're never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy
No we're never gonna survive unless
We are a little
Cray cray crazy
Crazy are the people walking through my head
One of them got a gun to shoot the other one
And yet together they were friends at school
Get it, get it, get it, yeah!
If all were there when we first took the pill
Then maybe then maybe then maybe then maybe
Miracles will happen as we speak
But we're never gonna survive unless
We get a little crazy
No we're never gonna survive unless
We are a little
Crazy
No no we'll never survive unless we get a little bit
A man decides to go along after seventy years
Oh darling
In a sky full of people only some want to fly
Isn't that crazy
In a world full of people only some want to fly
Isn't that crazy
Crazy
In a heaven of people there's only some want to fly
Ain't that crazy
Oh babe Oh darlin'
In a world full of people there's only some want to fly
Isn't that crazy
Isn't that crazy Isn't that crazy Isn't that crazy
Oh
But we're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy crazy
No we're never gonna to survive unless we are a little crazy
But we're never gonna survive unless we get a little crazy crazy
No we're never gonna to survive unless we are a little crazy
No no never survive unless we get a little bit
And then you see things
The size of which you've never known before
They'll break it
Someday
Only child know
Them things
The size
Of which you've never known before
Someday

The audio was pretty poor but that looked like a powerful moment!
What a terribly boring version of a great song.
Like a hedgehog without spikes.

Good song to begin with and I think I like this version even better than the original.

Source for that track is from the MTV Unplugged show in 1996, at The Brooklyn Academy of Music's Majestic Theater.

A great performance at Seal's peak, opening with an acoustic version of Hendrix's Stone Free:

Have listened to RP for years but never posted - but this one brings me out of the woodwork.

Back in early '90s I was a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa where I was teaching English.  My then-girlfriend was back in the States but came to visit me the first summer I was in-country.  Both of us being Seal fans, I put in a request to the Jolly Good Show on the BBC, which was one of the lifelines for PCVs back then - no email, no facebook!  (-;

The show, being what it was (broadcast worldwide) received tons of mail, I am sure, but the plea that I put in to have them play "Crazy" must have been just pitiful enough, b/c they played it as requested!  We were on what was to be a 12- or so hour ride (to be followed by a 5-hour bush taxi ride) when we had a chance to hear it - good times.

Thanks for a great twist on a fun memory!

What a great story! Thanks for sharing!
This is superb! To be able to create the unique tension pulse the original recording has...in an acoustic setting...takes creative impulse and artistic genius. All this and still offer something new! Wonderful!
Anyone know who's playing piano on this version?

Beautiful music, btw, but right now (2020) it's funny how this song's lyrics reflects a differnt age from when it was written.  Nowadays crazy is absolutely everywhere and inescapable.  It's bringing destruction right from the very top.  As in other periods of history, perhaps it's time to see that we will never survive unless we get a little sane and rational.  Or actually a lot more.

Agreed. We need to find a way to put away anger and realize that if we don't start finding common ground with one another we are doomed as a civilization.
I hear an extra verse at the beginning on this recording.
My daughters would listen to Seal years  ago and I wrote him off as just some flash in the pan pop star ...man was  I wrong.  The guy is a true craftsman , great song.

I think I'd prefer being invited up on stage to being "drug".  Maybe drugged up on stage would be okay, though.

always prefer acoustic!

I dunno, this song in particular seems a little less crazy.

speaking of Crazy Seal: y'all heard about the busker he heard in Manchester, did a spontaneous Facebook live duet with, and then drug up on stage to open his concert later that evening?

I overlanded Africa 1979 - 1981 and spent a lot of time with Peace Corps volunteers as well as other young cooperants and aid/development workers.

Short-wave radio rocked!   Then there was Congolese music in the thatched roof bars.

Good on the BBC and thanks for sharing the memories.

Great singer
always prefer acoustic!
I like this version, except that I don't really care for the way he ended it.  I like the latter part of the original version better.  I would like to hear more Seal on RP, though.
Crazy good!
Babybabybabybaby!!!

And you rather blew the opportunity to say something meaningful.

I prefer the original. This version is slightly boring.
A nice variation from the original.
