One winter, near water
I fell in love with a boatman's daughter
In a churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

I loved her, she loved me
The way they say it should be
In a churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

Yeah but
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
now

Come midnight I'd be waiting
Her blue eyes, anticipatin'
In the churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

I was rolling, she was wheeling
Our poor hearts were madly stealing
Love in a churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

Yeah but
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
It's all over
now

Through springtime we travelled
Mysteries of time unravelled
In the churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

Came summer, came autumn
Came the years we tried we fought 'em
From a churchyard
On the cold sandy shore

Solid 7 or better. What's not to like.
mink deville, elvis costello, wille deville, joe jackson
I really liked his "hit"... "Places I Have Never Been".
I need to Submit that one to add to my rejected list.
Wow. He had to be a big influence on the Jayhawks or even Golden Smog.
Some songs sound better to me depending on where I am at when I hear it.  If I was hearing this live or somewhere mindless, I would be into it, but I'm not.  I'm in my office working away and this song seems misplaced.  Right now this song bothers me, but put me in a bar and it might be right on.
You mean that's not Andrew Dice Clay on the album cover?
This is not very good... Trying to not insult the guy, but it sounds pretty mediocre.

I like it : )
George Harrison and The Byrds.
First time hearing his music.  Simple...works for me.
I thought it was the Femmes..

Traveling Wilburys? George?

This is from 1980, quite a while before the Wilburys were even formed.  He does use a little of that vibrato that Harrison used sometimes, but musically his style is different.

Agree. Caught him at a local festival 3-4 years ago. Had us all dancing from start to finish. Great show.
Traveling Wilburys? George?
Never heard of him, will have to check it out but it is pronounced Willie Nillie? Cause if it is.......
Yay !! I wore the grooves out of this album back in the day . Great memories from  much simpler time in my life .
