You sleep like a kid with one hand stuck fast to the side of your face.
Backside in the air, mouth half open, but still filled with grace.

And you seem so happy as your skin turns the colour of a violet-golden sky.
And it cuts me up when we fight and go to bed facing opposite sides.

You're like gasoline.
You're like the willow tree.
You're like a split-screen.
But you're the green in me.

And you smoke when you're hurt or bored or out with friends, but I don't mind.
Who cares if the big 'C' comes? We're young, we're having some lovely times.

You frown as the clouds bring you down, drop to your knees and scream "Oh, my God".
But you really shouldn't bother, there's bigger things going on
you little sod, you little sod

You're like gasoline.
You're like the willow tree.
You're like a split-screen.
But you're the green in me.

You're like gasoline.
You're like the willow tree.
You're like a split-screen.
But you're the green in me.

You're like gasoline.
You come from Aberdeen.
Your skin's like blanc de chine
You dance like Balanchine.

You drive a limousine.
You're taking mescaline.
Your wife's a wolverine.
You bring out the hydrocarbon in me.

I'll take my Grammy now.

Oh, they get even more grammy-worthy... yikes!   {#Wall}
"You're like gasoline ... you're like a split screen ..."  The technical term for such lyrics is "they suck".  This is a truly bad cut, Bill.
lol! had to check the lyrics when I heard the second line

"you little sod, you little sod" lol!
very nice - my first listen.
Who is that singing backup? Sounds like Deb Talan.
I love hearing singing in its natural accent, instead of an american immitation. Love this band.
This is why Scots left Scotland - wasn't the Highland clearances, it was mournful dirges that pushed them over the edge. When they got to the New world they high-fived and shouted 'result'!
{#Lol}

I'll need some time with this one......
sounds like someone I know

I realise the singers voice is not universally loved but round where I live everyone sounds like this.

I suspect that the very elements that some dislike so strongly are those that endear this song to me.  I like hearing it very much, for now.

Like the instrumentation. Lyrics are, well.... How many things rhyme with gasoline?

You're like gasoline
Jump on a trampoline

Let's go watch Frankenstein...
If you press PSD while a track is playing it records the event. Thus, Bill knows how many people can't stand a song enough to need to turn it off.

Just saying. . .
They remind me of Elbow
Album title seems appropriate.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  I love this!   Incredible love song!  Nice instrumentals too!
I can figure it out but I'm not writing it out lol!

That was a little odd

Sometimes a song or singer rubs you up the wrong way from the first note, and this is one of those times. Yer man's voice is seriously irritating. TFF PSD
