When the breeze between us calls, love comes and lingers into our lives,
And the leaves begin to fall, you point your finger at me.

I love you-
I love you-

In the sadness of your smile love is an island way out to sea,
But it seems so long ago we have been ready trying to be free.

And it's up to you,
Why won't you say?
Make our lives turn out this way.
If they knew, that we have got nothing to lose,
No reason to hide from what's true.
In the world of me and you
All is forgotten when we're inside
And the words that pass us by,
I am not listening, all of it's lies.

And it's up to you,
Why won't you say?
Make our lives turn out this way.
If they knew, that we have got nothing to lose,
No reason to hide from what's true,
That we have got nothing to lose.

Bill, please get another copy of this. It sounds very muddy & mono.
The MB deserve better representation on RP.

Must have fixed it. It is in stereo NOW!   Thanx RP!
Classically gorgeous Moody Blues.

I have this CD, and out of the box it's bottom heavy.  I was able to clear that up by backing off the bass control a bit and boosting the treble and mid-range equalizer settings a bit.  It made a poor mix much more listenable.  Hope that helps!
 I've had the vinyl since I was in high school and did the same thing back then!

Why REM? I think I miss the point.

Unfortunately, this is as good as it gets.  This is from a fairly recent remaster -- direct from the CD. Sounds like one of the many 60s/70s recordings where the original multitrack tapes didn't survive.
Nice that RP goes deep on the likes of MB and Joni, and others. I'm sure it serves other fans of their faves as well.

Boredom is an affliction of the bored (ie. It's on you, Dude).
Best REM song ever!!!{#Bounce}
For all you spoonerism fans:
Moody Blues spoonerised is Bloody Muse (with a slight poetic license)

Still love this one... 9 ...

I respectfully disagree.  There's a lot to be said for songcraft.  Well structured, good musicianship, and still those great all male harmonies.  No one else sounded or still sounds like the Moodys.

And, yes, they belong in the Hall.

And I agree with that. Not only has this aged well, it's actually a bit of the classic and timeless. Indeed, just like many Moody cuts.

Never fails to make me smile. Approaching godlike. 9.

I had to double check to see if that was a post I made and forgot about.....ha ha.
You just had to be there to get it...

Love Justin Hayward

There was this very harsh review in "Rolling Stone" about the time of In Search of the Lost Chord, which suggested that they ditch the mellotrons and let Hayward and Lodge do all the writing. Of course, the snobs at RS missed the point, but I still feel partial to Hayward and Lodge's work.
I hope when they finished this song they took off their headphones, threw them to the ground and smiled, knowing they NAILED IT!

Disagree.
The Moody Blues are timeless.
Well, that hasn't aged very well.
Mind blowing in 1970, and still mind blowing 44 years later.{#Daisy}

There is no mistaking their sound.  Mellow overall, but the bass thumps solidly and melodic multi-tracked guitar solos slide from background to foreground to background.  Must be the calm vocals with reverb ...

Nice characterization.

Funny, for the longest time Moody Blues songs would put me somewhere in the Canadian Rocky mountains.

This was music that both the rednecks and BC bohemes liked.

Oh yeah? Well, for your musical edification, the Moodys were prog rock before there was prog rock.
Procul Harum too.

Love this piece!!  Hopefully, I am not the only one to notice the great sounds coming from this song, which is also from the Moodies' 2nd -best album, in my humble opinion...

{#Cheers}
I was just thinking about the Moody Blues! That I only have 3-4 songs on my pod and how I have always appreciated them. Positive and thoughtful. And I haven't heard this one in years. Right on!
Blast from the past...I remember sitting around college dorm rooms, putting and keeping a good buzz on, jamming to this and other solid gems by trippy, deep groups our elders kept turning us onto!  I really do think that the message contained in songs like this still applies...
