Oh my hero tried
But I fell too many times
Seeing blue and green when I was supposed to see white
All your ships in magazines
seem like make believe to me
You won't find me in the line
Trying to get somewhere to be
We were carrying on
Oh, we used to be so strong
Never knew we were living in the beautiful wild
In the beautiful wild, La de da
In the beautiful wild, La de da
Oh my hero tried
But I fought too many times
Seeing you in the scenes
Of an old time movie
Hold me close into the night
While we stay up one last time
Never knew we were living in the beautiful wild
In the beautiful wild, la de da
A home on the farm
we haven't given up so far
A home on the farm
We haven't given up so far
In the beautiful wild
in the beautiful, beautiful wild
La de da
la de da...

Maybe it's your bad humor that needs the foot-flush...  Ha!

And I thought the song was not stellar..  but nice.

I like this song too!

It's hard to say about recent times - that depends more upon what you like, but the U.S. was undeniably a musical forerunner for most of the 20th Century - at least in terms of popular music.

man, every time something new catches my ear on this station, it turns out the person is from canada.  what happened to the US? is there a decline, or was it just never a musical forerunner in the first place?

I like this song a lot
The superior musical delivery, that's how.

I know I'm supposed to be loyal to my fellow countrywoman, but this really isn't doing it for me.
She be channelling Neko Case.
my now greatest favorite of all time

Dang...7 plays in the last 30 days....maybe RP needs to check the listener ratings of Ms. Grant's following! Try some other album cuts!!!
Not sure I like that "swinging a cat" vibrato in her voice she sometimes uses...

"I 've Got Your Fire" from the same album would be a great addition to the RP playlist....
Okay, I stopped working to check this one out too. Apparently she's a natural show stopper. :-)

Me too.  Tune caught my attention and the fact that Bill said she is from Nova Scotia.
Jenn Grant's voice is spot on for The Weepies's Deb Talan. Fooled me.
I like this!
Liking what she's doing with her voice - fits nicely with the twangy instruments
I'll give it a meh. Uninspiring.

Loved the song. Got the cd a couple weeks back and would recommend to RP listeners.
Took me two seconds to know she was Canadian.  How?  I have no idea.
Nice!
