This sounds so much more "Spanish" than the orchestral version or the James Gang version.  Still a very nice tune.  I vote 8.
"I'm doing it my way" he could say
I guess after "10" ruined this song they figured they might as well just finish it off with the bagpipes...

I agree, but I gave it a 6!  I can't stand bagpipes!  But, it IS interesting & I will listen to it again!
very irritating

Even with the bagpipes...?

I can't help but think of Bo Derek running down the beach in slow motion.

Torville & Dean!

Bagpipes always pop up in the most unexpected places.
Interesting rendition on bagpipes, and it’s only 3 minutes. I can tolerate Bolero for 3 minutes.
I had to listen to the real Bolero for hours blindfolded in college.  This is a nice rendition!
I love Ravel... I Love Bolero... I Love Bagpipes... but this shouldn't be mixing... Ravel must be suffering from his grave!

No doubt you rated this as a '10".

Everybody in my church loves this music...

Wait, Bolero starts softly.  Oh.  Bagpipes.  {#Doh}
(Wow.  Twice in two days!)
I can appreciate this if nothing else
After exclaiming "What?" initially, I've got to say I love this.  I love bagpipes, I love Ravel - it's a win win situation.

Amusing and unexpected. (Well, nothing's ever truly unexpected on RP.)
Congrats Bill.
I couldn't imagine that I could hear some Gaita here. Saw Carlos in concert some times in Britttany. Still impressive. Perhaps one day I could hear some Breton music on RP...
Quite impressive considering how difficult bagpipes are to play and to play Bolero of all things.
No cats were harmed in the making of this piece.  {#Smile}
interesting piece about Ravel and the composition of this music:   https://www.radiolab.org/blogs/radiolab-blog/2012/jun/18/unraveling-bolero/

I hate to say it, but bagpipes make any song a little better IMHO.

Sounds like this piece could have been written for bagpipe after all.
Wondering how Bo Derek would handle this version?
