I'm awake, no I'm not scared,
Shoot and arrow off my head
Fire and ice, all in between
Of this world, and all unseen
No one knows just why we're here
Embrace the doubt and face the fear
It's all about the inner search
To be a hunter-gatherer

I'm going out

I awake unto this day
I'm going out to make a change
I've fallen down, and gotten up
Been searching everywhere for love
I've let it go, welcomed it in
I wear the scars upon my skin
The stroke was real, the force is great
My heart is an adventurer

I'm going out

I've tried to make this life my own
To find myself, I've searched alone
To let love go and let it in
I felt it burning like a sin
I've worked it out, but learned it hard
That's something's certain - life is ours
So I won't settle down and watch either way
I'm going out

Thought it was Lorde, myself.  (That's a good thing IMO.)

Adele and Lorde? I think I can sort of see Lorde, but not Adele. Personally, she sounds like Halsey to me. (Or Halsey sounds like her.)
nice cover art.
Very derivative.
9 for the drums 1 for the rest of the song.
Waiting for a Beth Dito cover of this song  ;-) think I would enjoy !
Gave it a 9 because Sarah is an aussie
Amazing album cover art.  I examine it over and over and see more detail every time, although none is there.  I have to skip the track though.
thought it was Of Monsters and Men
I feel her stuff... Or is that, I'd like to feel her stuff?

Its funny how, when a certain singer becomes popular, all kinds of similar singers seem to just pop up.......recently it was Adele (spare me), now were hearing all Florence & the Machine type stuff. This girl is a prime example. Horrible song........
really bad song, really bad sound, really bullshit arrange and there is never good sound in this song. please never play again please ...
Laura Marling clone?

Incredible transfer from Deep Purple's Hush.
Very well done, Bill!

Jimmy Swaggart crying
"Cousin Jerry Lee will be so heartbroken!"

Excellent performer!
I like the energy and the courage to question one's own existence. To not be a mere minion...but to forge ahead and be a good person to yourself and others. This tune seems to express that sentiment. I appreciate it.

I have just worked out the cover art. Excellent.

Are you talking about William S. Burroughs—  the surrealism drug addict?  I read his stuff about 42 years ago when I was schooling on postmodernism...  what does that have to do with this song?

not a thing

you should read the william burroughs version of that experience. then maybe check out some of his writing. the world will be a different place after.. some things may seem more important while others might fade in the distance

The cover of this album is a Rorschach inkblot test...  see what you wish...

the orchestra sux on this song...

I LOVE this song, and I cannot find it on iTunes!

The orchestra sux...

there is a quote of "Shoot an apple off my head" from the Coldplay song Clocks, which in turn is a reference to the myth of William Tell shooting an apple off his son's head...  don't know why it is in this song...

and there is something somewhat intriguing about the title I AwakeEach of these "Great Awakenings" was characterized by widespread revivals led by evangelical Protestant ministers... and the formation of new religious movements and denominations...

the orchestra sux...

Her voice is so contrived and copy-cat...there are so many female singers that sound like this nowadays...like they are hard at work swallowing their own tongues and clipping off their phrasing with "hush-hush" baby girl pouts. I'm so tired of little girl singers - where have all the women gone? Ugh.

The Sandy Nelson tune?  This sort of drum intro is probably in hundreds of songs.

Proclivities has a good point though I agree that it sounds similar to the SN tune...even though it's such a mainstay drum beat used in thousands of songs over the year.

This is pretty cool.
Gotta here SING SING SING next to cap off this set.
Fiona Apple "sound-a-like" ... {#Whisper}
The cover is one of those "look at it with your head tilted to the right and there's another face inside the main face" pictures. Or maybe it's the Boulevardier I've just finished.
WOW — really caught me by the ears!  Cool one!
Awesome direct connect with reality...
A slow rhythmic party train that gradually picks up speed going downhill.
Bill I love this station, so much good new music that you introduce us too.
Thank You so much!!!!
Some interesting and fresh stuff from her. I am really like all her stuff.
Thought this was Florence at first, getting wound up. Sounds good so far!
hit PSD and this came up...awesome! fresh
Lifted the intro from "Let there be drums"
Don't know it but it's good!
