Sittin at the laundrymat
Trying to keep clean
Twenty five women arrive on the scene
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you're gonna get to me

Down in the southland
Down among the twisted vines
You ought to see my baby
Shootin up the freeway signs
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you get to me
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you're gonna get to me

Goin to the welfare
Standin in line
The woman at the window
She won't give me a dime
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you get to me
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you're gonna get to me

Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you get to me
Ain't no way, baby
Ain't no way you're gonna get to me

This is absolute gold!  My favorite album!  And Mr. Dave was such a great guy! RIP Brother!
A good soul. Incredible talent.
Don't look back, man. Rest in peace.
Ever since I saw him with El Rayo-X open at the Spectrum in Philadelphia in the early 80´s, playing violin, guitar, and  that AMAZING slide, he´s been my all time guitar hero.  We were all like "Who IS that guy?!!"  Was lucky enough to see many incarnations, and spent a memorable evening with him and Wally after a gig in Wörgl Austria, drinking Obstler and talking about love, politics and the universe.  I´ll never forget that night... He was such a cool guy... really hit me hard when I heard he went clear.  RIP Mr. Dave
Rock In Peace, Mr. Lindley.

David's very cool. Didn't he date Linda Ronstadt for a while before she hooked up with Jerry Brown?

He performed on a few of Ms Ronstadt's albums.  In a 1995 Rolling Stone interview, Ms Ronstadt said that Mr Lindley was her cousin.
First Nils then David, how good is that. Thanks RP.

ummm...no....Weird Al does parody of popular songs, Mr. Dave is a consummate cover man.

Poor man's Al Yankovic.
👌 where else can you hear David Lindley on the radio? Thank you thank you. He's one of my favorites. 💛
Brilliant talented David Lindley Respect
Excellent album. I have a happy memory of dancing with friends. Mercury Blues is hot!
Awesome album, bought it back in 82 or 83 & still listen to it. A club band I had back then covered his funky kinda reggae version of Twist & Shout & it was one of the most popular songs we did.

would like to hear another tune from this album.... Mercury Blues         Lots of Good Memories from this album  :))
we are definitely in the funk. loving this song! 8
The man did some terrific work on Jackson Browne's For Everyman album.
One of my favourite albums when I was a teenager... lots of fun playing these songs with our cheap instruments when party.
Uh-no. Just no.
He gets a 9 for the album name alone. Everything else is gravy.
more, more, more. david is great play the heck outta him. his musianship is not equaled by more than 3 or four people alive.
Let's start with a 7 already.

I could do without the super high notes. But all in all a fun song. I bet if I heard it live at a beach-side bar with the sun shining and a cold drink in my hand I'd give it a 9. But for now I'd say it's a 6-7.
Still one of the all-time great albums. A surprise then and a delight now. David is one of a kind.
{#Daisy} LOVED this ALBUM!
