What a day for a daydream
What a day for a daydreamin' boy
And I'm lost in a daydream
Dreamin' 'bout my bundle of joy

And even if time ain't really on my side
It's one of those days for taking a walk outside
I'm blowing the day to take a walk in the sun
And fall on my face on somebody's new-mown lawn

I've been having a sweet dream
I been dreaming since I woke up today
It's starring me and my sweet thing
'Cause she's the one makes me feel this way

And even if time is passing me by a lot
I couldn't care less about the dues you say I got
Tomorrow I'll pay the dues for dropping my load
A pie in the face for being a sleepy bull dog

And you can be sure that if you're feeling right
A daydream will last long into the night
Tomorrow at breakfast you may pick up your ears
Or you may be daydreaming for a thousand years

What a day for a daydream
Custom-made for a daydreaming boy
And I'm lost in a daydream
Dreaming 'bout my bundle of joy

And for all these years I thought he was singing  'sleepy bozo.'

I've read that the band name came from the amount of, erm, 'man cream' that a man produces during, ahem, summits of excitement. Is this apocryphal, or true, anybody know?

It's a fairly common metaphor in blues songs, Fred. Sometimes it's used in a very subtle way; other times the meaning is more obvious. A relatively late and well-known song built around it is "Spoonful" by Willy Dixon.
the first 45  I ever had......nice

This played a big role for me back in the day, cruising Main in my 57 Chevy - drove a school bus to earn money for the payment - Main Street being about a mile long and ending at the beginning of red dirt country roads that held erotic promise, more often than not unrealized.  Just before Vietnam, in training in Georgia, my bud Jimmy Drown, years before his time with The Id or The Blend, would hold his left handed 12 string while I strummed and sang this song, and while we both laughed our young asses off.  God bless John Sebastian and Jimmy Drown.

Awesome.
Nice to hear this on RP!

Haven't heard this one in a while, and a new one for RP! Good day for a song like this {#Daisy}
