They are great in the Electronic Department. Unsurpassed in their inventiveness. Unrivalled in their creativity. Simply the best...

only Kraftwerk comes up to the same level! 👍👍👍

Have you listened to Tangerine Dream much?
I have no TD after the late 1970's. It became to much like New Age.

I imagine it would pair nicely with Malbec...

Das ist bemerkenswert!
I have not any Tangerine Dream since Sorcerer. It all became to much like new age!
Absolutely genius. Electronic music pioneers.
Really not their best material...
A little too long...
Saw them live..was not stoned...but it sure felt like I was. I have never seen walls of rack mounted keyboards like that ever!!! I think he had 20 or so Korg D50s all synced, and that was just 1 rack of many!

Highlights

This winner of the 2010 Cannabis Cup was created by the illustrious Barney’s Farm. A strain for connoisseurs, Tangerine Dream is the hybrid daughter of G13and Neville’s breeder strain A5. Its ability to knock out pain while increasing energy is what makes Tangerine Dream so special. While too much Tangerine Dream may leave you stuck on the couch, this strain was handcrafted to meet the demands of working medical patients. Uplifting and euphoric, it provides users with mental clarity while deeply relaxing muscles. Tangerine Dream typically flowers in 8 to 10 weeks and features a citrusy aroma.

Never saw "Sorcerer" although I like what I've heard of the soundtrack. You're right about "Alien" as perfect midnight showing: I saw it in the theaters in '79 with a bunch of friends and it scared the CRAP out of us. An amazing film.

My fave TD disc is probably the live double-cd "Poland", followed by "Hyperborea." I wish TD would cut back on the quantity of releases and boost the quality. A lot of times they're just re-treading old music with slight variations.

I saw Tornado Live in Nottingham about 15 years ago, was a small crowd but awesome gig. Took my (ex) missus at the time, she wasn't too impressed, kept asking when will it finish and all I could say was that they haven't finished the first song yet {#Roflol}
Everybody in my mushrooming multitude of homeless camps loves this music...

Have you seen Friedkin's "Sorcerer", the TD music is well casted in its way of tightening the tension (trucking nitroglycerin through the Amazon!)

Saw it in the theater when it came out ('77). Amazing movie/soundtrack. Didn't do that well at the box office unfortunately. Made me a Friedkin and a Tangerine Dream fan. It was perfect for a midnight showing, as was the original Alien in '79.

Excellent
This TD makes me think of the 1981 movie Thief. A gem from Michael Mann. Good soundtrack, too.

My first exposure to Tangerine Dream was from the movie Risky Business.  Wow it's been 30 years since that movie came out.  It seems like yesterday.

Their early stuff like Phaedra and Rubycon was pretty good.
This just sounds like bad 80s synth-pop.

That's  cool....... just like the Netherlands {#Biggrin}
not really "godlike" but I love TD's trancelike sound, and I can't ever forget "Sorcerer" and it's awesome music
Goes to show that "and now for something completely different" can do the trick. Cool move, Bill.

Haven't heard TD for many years...

I think there is a lot better TD stuff out there to play other than this. Cat Scan from Optical  Race comes to mind.  There are  a couple others off Optical Race, but I can't remember the song names without getting the CD out.

Robots love music too!

needs a monkey with a sequencer...

How long is this song? This is getting ridiculous!
TD has something like 200 CDs released.  That's getting close to Bach or Mozart in output.
It could be interesting in 76 I suppose
