This time in between the day and the night
The light kills my sense of life
So scared, I'll turn it on, turn it on, turn it on

It's dull, this dusk, this desk, this dust
My eyes adjust, I'll blow out the flame
Can you and me remain

Changes, I've never been good with change
I hate it when it all stays the same
Caught between the gold and the gain

Changes, I've never been good with change
I hate it when it all stays the same
Caught between the cold and the wave
My heart beats up again

Once said, words make a world of their own
I misread, I can't get you back on the phone
So tired, I'll turn it off, turn it off, turn it off

How's that last week we were whole
You're far away and I hardly know
Can you and me delay

Changes, I've never been good with change
I hate it when it all stays the same
Caught between the gold and the gain

Changes, I've never been good with change
Troubled when it all stays the same
I'm caught between this cold and the wave
My heart beats up again

Are you my trouble
Are you my trouble
Are you my trouble
Trouble

Are you my trouble
Are you my trouble
Are you my trouble

You may want to verify what a "melody" is before you spend your money.  This song may be lacking a lot of things, but a melody is not among them.

A lot of music is atmospheric these days
I just don't see what everyone likes about this. I'm hearing a much-too breathy voice deliver particularly nonsensical lyrics (it's problematic to not be good with change and hate it when it all stays the same) and backed by a track that would bore me if I were in an elevator.

that's because she's caught between the gold and the gain,
you're welcome

Nice set Bill!
and on the seventh day, God created the  . . Mute Button.
I'm not a fan of the cutesy girl(or guy ) voice thing in general, but I think it works in this tune.
I like it.

Pork chops? You can't be referring to her voice.
Used to be a tremendous fan of Stars but they're feeling more and more empty to these ears lately
I like it, and I'm not tired at all of the "breathy" female singers.
It's such a relief from the "divas" who scream (or as they say "belt it out") all the friggin' time.
There are very few songs with the female belting it out that I can even stand at all.
Florence And The Machine can do it well, but that gets old pretty fast too.
Muzak, wimpy voice. I always how these acts get signed.

When is the breathy little girl voice era going to end?  I bet she could belt it out as well and it would be fine, but this 'style' is really overdone.

It's more of a style than an "era" - it's a singing style has been around for a long time, but there are still plenty of female singers belting it out.  To me, it depends on what works given the tempo, production, and theme of the song.  However, sometimes that style seems too contrived and can be annoying.  Lately, I've noticed it being heavily used in TV ads for McDonalds, Toyota Priuses, and iPhones.
Love this...

Not for me... Love when a breathy girl whispers in my ear & plays with my hair.  Being a songbird is just a bonus.

Keep up the good work Bill and Rebecca!

I have heard this song so many times on RP and always thought it was Norah Jones until today when I looked to see who the artist was.{#Yes}
Can't get any work done when this comes on !!!
first time i herd this song i loved it . play it more ofthen .

Ugh! Newspaper! ... litterbin ... dreadful tinny sort of words. Tin, tin, tin.

That said, I can see now hear how this simple melody might have seduced the Stars.

Thank you! All this time I thought it was just me.
ZZZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZZ
Yup.  She pulls it off just nicely.

Well, that and a Ouija Board.

Somehow, some of the lyrics here don't seem to match the song.
Cold and the gain would more likely be gold and the gain and later, cold and the rain

Nice song.

Sweet voice.  Very commercial sound.  Radio quality music.

Agreed on both counts! Great track!

Thought I was hearing Sophie Zelmani.....  I like this song - 7 for now
OMG why are the stars soo goooood!!!?!!
Come on.  I've installed a load of updates and need to reboot.  Give me a chance.  Feels like I've been sat here motionless all day.

7.  May go higher on repeated listens.  Nice.
Second listen of this....yes, thumbs up!
Very nice. A very unique silky voice.

There are at least four of the larger (transparent) "ghosts" - child-ghosts sitting on the laps of the adult ghosts - and I guess the girl with the flowers is the fifth ghost.  Cool cover, nice tune.

Wait, is this the young girl that was on THE VOICE?

How's your new career as a Ghost Hunter coming along? Not so good?

Her voice is so stylish. I have to laugh when people use words like "incredible" to describe something so completely unexceptional. The music is appealing though...
Very nice. I don't recall hearing this before.
Simply Outstanding.  Now a 9 IMHO.

Not bad to me...but the blasé band name, kinda makes me go...'wuhhhhh?'
Gotta bump my rating up a point !

Still like it
Sweeeeeet! Dreamy! Me like. First time hearing on RP. It has something of a Julie Cruise vibe.
Sounds real nice!

exactly what I was thinking. But sure that intro must have been used in 20% of all songs written in the 50s, right?

Agreed. That's an amazing album. But her voice is incredible regardless.

Easy listening, almost elevator music. But that is not always a bad thing. This is very pleasant and relaxing. Something to hum while walking to the 7 eleven store.
Very nice.

I'm giving this an 8 because I haven't heard this band in a long time and it transports me back to seeing them live as opening band for Bloc Party in 2005. Time flies.
Oooohh, I like this...
Good arrangement and a nice, smooth sound.  A group worth noting.

Dito. Would recommend the Vimeo virdeo, though.

This the same group that did that heart-breaking Your Ex-Lover Is Dead?  Whoah, they've touched me deeply yet again, dig it!
I liked what I caught...the last minute or so of this....

Nice song :) sensual
norah jones meets feist and has a baby star
I don't know why but this reminded me of Leonard Cohen.
soaring.... angelic.... mind drifts...and sometimes it leaves completely...
First. Cannot believe I did this.
