Oh I beg you, Can I follow?
Oh I ask you, Why not always?
Be the ocean where I unravel,
Be my only, be the water where I'm wading.

You're my river running high,
Run deep run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Don't come honey, I follow you.

He a message, I'm the runner.
He the rebel, I'm the daughter waiting for you.

You're my river running high,
Run deep run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Don't Come honey, I follow you.

You're my river running high,
Run deep run wild.

I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Don't come honey, I follow you.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Deep sea baby, I follow you.
I, I follow, I follow you,
Don't come honey, I follow you.

Good tune! I never heard of her before. Thanx RP!

Who is Rivers and why is she stalking him?

I used to live down the road from Rivers. They had 80 or so acres in the woods with a creek and beaver dam.
No one has come close to literally depicting depression as Li Kykke...
He even thinks he want's her (it) back. incredible insight into deep-sea depression.  always feel conflicted when i hear this. but cant help loving it.
I love that hollow tube thing that keeps falling on the floor.  (Really like this song, in part due to it's quirky little extras.)
What web page do I have up that's making those stupid sounds?
OH, It's RP? Dang, this song is irritating.
OK, that's enough

Eh...I hear that...

...but I also hear a melodramatic, over-produced, self-important, twit who lives in an incredibly sheltered bubble.  Not sure I can get on board with this one.
Gentle reminder: this is an Eclectic radio station.

I find this song to be nice, unique, and interesting.
Is it a little weird? Yep.
Does it entirely make sense? Nope.
Questions: Is life never weird? Does it always makes sense?

Thank you RP for including songs like this.

Triggerfinger cover better? Hell no.
If this is the original I'm extremely impressed that Triggerfinger saw the potential for their brilliant cover version. No often that you get a cover that is so very much better than the original.

I once tried to write lyrics for a melody my neighbor wrote, and I sat there, looking at the blank page but nope, niente, nichts. You know, I wanted to write something that worked, something that meant something but didn't sound sick or contrived, something natural and from the heart yet fit the meter of the melody without being shoehorned into it. I failed. So we drank a bottle of wine and ended up using the directions for using his keyboard in Spanish instead as neither of us understand Spanish.

Then along comes a song which doesn't even try to rhyme:

Oh I beg you, can I follow
Oh I ask you, why not always
Be the ocean, where I unravel
Be my only, be the water and I'm wading

or even make sense. Try this:

Here's a message, I'm the runner (well, doh)
He's the rebel, I'm the daughter, waiting for you

(wtf is that about? Is this the message? So she's the rebel's daughter and she's waiting for, what? an ocean? Because her rebel father sent her? I mean, what?)

It is the nature of art that naked emperors and empresses grace the stage. In truth though, despite his awards, Dillon has had his drawers down around his ankles plenty of times.
Triggerfinger's cover is just soooo... better. And they arranged it in like 15 minutes.
Make it go away.

This is maybe a little too hard an opinion, but i.m.o. this song doesn't fit in the playlist of RP indeed.
I find RP should have a upper limit of 5 times a song passes during the last 30 days... This song is not bad, but quite tired of listening to it.
the only song i dislike on RP
Every once and awhile a song which is basically OK becomes memorable for being truly butchered.  Looks like this is one of those times. About the only way I can imagine this song being treatd worse would be a rap version.
Do you think she sounds a bit like Stevie Nicks?  {#Sunny}

I HAVE A RAZORBLADE!! PLEASE CHOOSE MINE!!!
Paul Simon says he writes lyrics using combinations of words chosen to sound nice together and jibe with the rhythm,  regardless of their meaning. He was addressing a specific question about the deep inner meaning of his line  "The cross is in the ballpark..."   It works for him, it might work for you! Or we could go back to stealing pick-a-nick baskets in Jellystone Park— you be BooBoo this time,

Sorry, this is not working for me at all. It sounds like Japanese karaoke. Sort of too "hyper", almost annoying. Triggerfinger's version is much better, more melodic and better paced. The song itself is something of an elevator music tune, but I'd rather ride in the car with Triggerfinger playing.

oh - so - catchy! {#Sunny}
"Deep sea baby" reminds me of the rather splendid movie Dagon, should have been a great end tune.
cool!
I've heard so many remixes and covers that the original actually sounds fresh now {#Biggrin}

ps: Triggerfinger's version is really doing it for me too.
Thanks RP!

Wow, I have only ever heard the Triggerfinger version (which I love). This is awesome, too.

She does sound similar during parts of the chorus, but otherwise, not so much.
Love this song and album. Glad to see it added to RP.

In 2 minds on this.  I think there is something good here but unlike many others think the sound effects fail to blend into the song and I just have an underlying nagging doubt about any song that feels like it spent this long in production.  Think I'll vote on the second listen.
Gotta say I like both versions very much. I'm able to accept both as art. Completely different songs IMHO and well done either way.
I'm liking this more each time I hear it.
yeah...great sound effects! like the xx or fever ray.
love it!

Great song! Digging the sound effects.
I recently posted a comment on the Triggerfinger version saying it was better, IMHO.
well, after hearing this version, i now state that this is the superior version.
but i still give both versions a 10.
