i missed this one altogether until now.

now that i got my face melted off, and feel like i took a bunch of speed,    (i didn't) i realize i really like this.  and omg - that cover art. beautiful!!

I heard this for the first-time last night.  All I kept saying to my wife was "Listen to those drums."  I had no Idea this song existed, and Classic Rock is my genre.  Love it!

I love this band!  Straight-ahead, loud, raucous, with that growling Hammond B-3 organ, and lyrics that appealed to me at 13 years old.

Ironically, after years of music school and mediocre skills on three instruments over both clefs, and 50 more years of life, ... I still love Deep Purple!

Roll down the windows, stomp the accelerator, and TURN IT UP!

Awesome synchronicity, RP! I was just listening to "Highway Star," remembering and writing about what a kick it was to push the pedal and peg the speedometer in my '70 Cutlass with this band jamming loud on the stereo and my buddy Rich G. (R.I.P.) riding shotgun.

It is a brilliant intro. I dabble a bit on the drums and I must confess I couldn't replicate what Paice is playing as long as my bottom points downwards.
