I feel like I'm listening to a 45 at 33 1/3.   I don't remember who it was, but someone took a set of Dolly Parton tracks and sped them up and they sounded great - the same treatment could be a remedy here.  But maybe I'm just not in a downer mood.

The epitomy of 'COOL'' so layed back and relaxing, first listen to this Band and I am well cooled out.

The best songs usually have a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it.  This is a big reason why I take what the critics say with a grain of salt.   I like to read the critics (esp year-end lists) every once in a while because they really are up to speed on what's what, to some degree.  They have their finger on the pulse, so to speak.  Like, What's the buzz?  They miss most of what's great though, because for one big reason they often have no taste in music whatsoever, and the second is because good music takes MANY listens before it sinks in.  Most critics are paid by the word and are compromised already, they have no objectivity, and certainly no courage.  Still, this is not a diatribe against Criticism, which as an institution is vital to music.  My favorite critic is this station's programmer.  Call it "applied criticism", if you want.
Like Andy B, this is new to me also. A band that I shall investigate.
New to me,...and I love it.  It's an 8 right off the bat.
Hey, I'm liking this a lot.
Heartbreaking, breathtaking lyrics.
