Wade in the rising water
Walk in the sinking sand
Crawl through the shadow valley
To try to understand

I climbed a Jacob's ladder
I fell down holy stairs
I found Siddartha's temple
No answer anywhere

The minute you think you know you got it
Is the minute you know it's gone for good
The second you pause his claws are on it
The tiger inside will eat the child

Oh

I saw a hall of mirrors
I saw a burning wheel
I saw a rain of arrows
I lost the way to feel
I saw a million faces
Stare at a fallen sky
I saw the last horizon
The end of time

Chorus

Speaking in quiet whispers
You hear it everywhere
It leaves as you're arriving
Arrives and you're still there

You drink, the cup is empty
You pour, the cup is full
You'll never get to hold it
It's always holding you
It's always holding you
It's always...

Go, go, Matildas!!
Wow another great singer that I would never hear on commercial music and she is an aussie so a double positive for me,LLRP
She has a delicious voice. I find the lyrics unexpected and captivating, and I dig the cover art. It's a 9 for me for pure emotion.
Hmm, so that's what happened to Calvin...
I was just thinking about this song. Thanks RP!
This makes 3 cat songs from the past hour or so.
Hankering for Van's epic "Listen to the Lion"
Couldn't have been 3 years between plays..... yuck
This is interesting thematically. Also the music is interesting. So what's the problem so many of you have with this song? She took a chance with an interesting concept (al least to me). The post with the lyrics should put all you nattering nabobs of negativity to shame. Bah humbug on your dissingness.
Interesting that some of you hear Paula Cole or Sarah McLaughlin.... All I could hear was Dar Williams, to the point where I got up to walk across the room to check my phone in its iphone dock b/c I was SO sure it was Dar.

Meh.
My first introduction to KMH was the 'Pig City' gig at UQ in 2006. I was not impressed as she was part of the 'Go Betweens' tribute... I just didn't think she was the right voice.... Anyway after having dismissed her I must admit the more of her original stuff the more I like... I do have a soft spot for quirky artists who come my home town of Brisvegas...
Got here by the Push Shift Dimension button, and I'm glad I did!
Like the cover art. Also the music  is OK; never heard Miller-Heidke before.

Bill's right about this song, I don't mind that he plays it now and then.
KM Heidke is actually bearable when you don't have to hear her several times a day. This one, for example, is a solid 5 for me (used to be 3 when she was all over RP's playlist).
I like this, heard it many times before on RP, and now finally know artist and song. I thought it was Vienna Teng.
A great record from start to finish. I can understand this artist only appealing to a select audience. I guess I'm one - cause I dig it. Cheers.
sweet toolur likes this picture, but still wants Kate to disappear

Yee-haw.

That little vocal "AH AOWoWA" thing is so bad it's embarrassing.
"The tiger inside will eat the child"

Every year, indoor tigers are the cause of far too many preventable deaths and injuries.  Protect yourself and your household: keep your tiger in a professionally-installed outdoor enclosure that conforms to your local building codes.  This has been a public service message from the National Safety Council, the National Association of Tiger Enclosure Construction Contractors, the Ad Council, and Radio Paradise.
Bill suggested that the lyrics were worth some attention, so after a quick search, here they are:

Wade in the rising water
Walk in the sinking sand
Crawl through the shadow valley

I climbed a Jacob's ladder
I fell down holy stairs
I found Siddhartha's temple
No answer anywhere

The minute you think you know you got it

certainly more thought-provoking than the lyrics of many songs I listen to.
i love what bill says about this song. not so much the song, but what he says. :)

'course it does - as you, yourself, gets older your own inner child will eventually be devoured. If this has not already happened?

Comments complaining about hateful comments are more annoying than the hateful comments themselves, in my opinion. Maybe the thought police can give it a rest.
Dear all you Nattering Nabobs of Negativism -  sure this song isn't for everyone (I liked it), but c'mon!  Look at the three comments below this one. They're funny! They're nice! They put you in a better mood yes?
{#Sunny}

postscript - now look at the comment above this one. whoops - sour mood again {#Ass}
by the way, I'm not policing their thoughts, I was referring to their comments.

So what?  Get over yourself.

Calm down, don't be such a  peevo, Steevo.
Fatty gets a stylist...even though I think she has a great voice, clever, dark lyrics and an awesome sense of humour, the fact that the band was called "Fatty gets a stylist" gives her an instant 8.
there's something about this song - not normally something I'd Ever like but something about it must appeal - every time I hear it I like it more.

Nice melody, but the arrangement is way too Lilith Fair for my taste.

What's wrong with Lilith Fair?
Not terribly great, but not too bad either, despite the awkward title…
I don't get it. Why do so many people hate this song?  Its not my favorite song in the world or anything, but I don't feel any animosity towards it.  Maybe y'all should just lighten up.

I'm hearing Paula Cole,  I am mistaken, right?

Yep.

not normally my taste range but for some reason I cannot quite put my finger on, I like this
Nice melody, but the arrangement is way too Lilith Fair for my taste.
lord, that is so bad.
Thanks Bill for the PSD button!

Please avoid playing this...
I like the sentiment expressed by the song title, as we have too many children, and too few tigers in the world. The song, however, doesn't live up to the promise.

Beautiful
Started with a "5" but now I gave it a "7".
Starting to LOVE this.
Starting to hate this.
Sounds more like Paula Cole to me than Sarah M.
Prefer this version to that tweeny-bopper one they kept playing.
I enjoy this version far more then the poppy version that she put out. Sounds far more evolved.
She's got a nice voice when she keeps her Kate Bush tendencies in check.
starting to really love this {#Hearteyes}
Very reminiscent of Katie Melua mixed with Sarah McLaughlin.
Every time this one comes on I like it more and more - Love her voice, and don't find it anywhere near as annoying as Sarah Mclachlan's.
I heard this on KCRW Santa Monica  the other day while doing a job in San Clemente.
It caught my ear.
This version is growing on me!
A solid 'blasé" from me. I'd probably like this a bit more if the singer was sucking my toes while listening. {#Cheesygrin}
Nah.. Prefer the spunky pint-size version.

She wasted no time in coverting this song! lol

Actually, this version is closer to the original.  This performance predates the "bouncier" version:

Not good... sounds like an even more annoying Sarah McLachlan

I think I prefer the superbouncyhappyfuntime version of this. Still, pretty good :)
