It escaped your attention, a single moment
Now you're running down wrong tracks
Left a notice on the pavement
Don't think you'll be ever coming back

Haven't you noticed
All the chickens are running wild
Have your lotus ready
We're bringing out the chimes

It escaped your attention, that single moment
While you were out changing lanes
Left a notice on the pavement
Don't think you'll be ever coming back

Haven't you noticed
All the chickens are running wild
Have your lotus ready
We're bringing out the chimes

Haven't you noticed
all the soldiers are running mad
Have your lotus ready
We're bringing out the chimes
Hey we're bringing out the chimes

Really like this.  The vocalist's style fits so very well.
It’s my favorite chicken song 🐓

Nice.

Felt the same; definite Hip-feel here.  RIP Gord
Nowhere close to a moog. Brilliant sounding song and band… Love it
oh yay! i haven't heard this in ages. thank you!

First of all, terrible grammar. Second, according to some other commenters you may be on to something. I personally think you're insane.
Can't say that there is a whole bunch of difference between Jose's solo stuff and whats presented here....very consistent styling...

Nice one . I think their song Tide has a place on RP
Does anyone know the name of that keyboard on the cover?
It seems like a song of Future Island "Back in the tall grass" no ??

Thanks to Wiki, I didn't say "this sounds more like Jose Gonzalez than Beck" - Long Live RP and the still-rather-new-site!!
I heard "Future Islands". Didn't it ??

This song lifted me out of my stupor and put me in a different stupor.
this song can really handle good headphones and cranking to the max. I'd love to hear him play it live.

All the chickens are running wild? Watch out folks! Chickens are meat eaters!
I mostly don't get this guy's music. I find most of it boring.
This song would be good for hypnotising chickens, it's so somnolent...{#Sleep}

         I don't know if chickens wants to carry a flag,
  By the way I need aquilo first and foremost, from thereon,
             I'll tiptoe to where to angels fear to tread
             It's texture like son, and  Is on th home run
         (But the chrono-meister se it for a chicken run.)

Can recognize José González as lead singer. Nice! {#Sunny}
Great song! If you change the lyrics to read "Haven't you noticed? All OUR chickens are running wild", it would make a great jingle for a brand of free-range chicken. Should play well in Portland;)
Have really come to love Junip and Jose. Smooth but captivating. Thanks RP!

Congrats. What subject did you teach that allowed a constant RP soundtrack?

I taught English and Yearbook. RP was a good vibe for when kids wrote or worked on yearbook pages.
The vibe is Sonic Youth.

Wow! This set has been fantastic!

Dave Matthews Band — Crash Into Me (live acoustic version)

Madrugada — Majesty (Live)

Jerry Garcia — Bird Song

Junip — Chickens

Brilliant song. Period{#Wink}
I'll take Jose Gonzales in any guise, thanks.
This sounds very much like Beck but, lacks his unique flair.  A nice enough tune though.

They sound like The Shins (good). An opening 6 for me. I reserve the right to bump that up in future.

Truly liking Junip and most of Jose Gonzalez output. Really like the cover album art too. A rarity these days.

Congratulations on achieving such an amazing milestone. So many times I've tried to introduce the music of RP to my students only to incur near riot-like conditions of revolt and disgust. After 9 years in Brooklyn the best I've encountered is the rare kid who likes Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. But I'm also willing to concede that it has something to do with the age group; 8th graders. It's a time when conformity crowds out individuality. Often times, a verbal war will ensue between camps whose musical choices are all abhorrent to me.

Inevitably I'll settle on be-bop and jazz standards so that when a feisty 13-year-old complains, "What is this crap?" I'll be be in a position to reply, "It's Duke Ellington, he's one of if not the greatest American composer of the 20th century, learn to love it!"

This fall I'll begin a new teaching adventure in Durham, NC. so I get to begin the whole cycle all over again. I hope these kids respond differently to RP. If not, I may just have to teach in Paradise, CA!

  Thanks. Now when I listen to RP I think back to my classrooms and the great kids and experiences I had, yet one more thing to thank RP for. High school kids were pretty accepting of my tunes. Good luck with helping kids along the way. Teaching is the greatest calling.

A song called 'Chickens'. Brilliant.

Today is the last day of a 30 year teaching career. For the last couple of years, Radio Paradise has been the soundtrack of my classrooms, and I've loved bringing this music into this space. So many times I've looked up and I'll see 16 and 17 year olds nodding their heads or tapping their pencils in rhythm. It's been a beautiful thing. Music is the common denominator and kids love it. Thanks, RP and all listeners for making this a long, strange, and musically beautiful trip. I'll still be listening! {#Wave}

What a wonderful way to introduce RP to young people.  I am sure they loved you for it.  Also thank you for your dedication to teaching a vital and often undervalued profession.  I do hope you are enjoying your well deserved retirement.

I just walked into work, got on to Radio Paradise, and this is the song playing. It's going to be a good day {#Biggrin}
Wow, cool...me, too...cooped-up and unfocused, till this made me move — kinda knew it must be Jose G strumming and singing, but not which effort or outfit he was with...hey, gosh I really dig this...some truly fantastic stuff; very MOVING...

Good song. I hope it gets nominated for the Pouletzer Prize.
Excellent song, had to bump it up to an 8. It's not on the EP shown, though!  In fact, the only place I can find it is in the bonus tracks for the MP3 version of their full album on Amazon.  Not sure if it's anywhere else.

I haven't noticed the chickens running wild, no.
I did notice that the lyrics were dumb-ass, to say the least. Is this an ode to poultry farmers?
Really. Lovely song ruined by some tongue-in-cheeks writing. Unless I've missed something. Can't miss the chickens. They're running wild.
Nice.

More Junip/Jose Gonzalez on RP!!
Sounds familiar.  I think the vocals and instruments are fragments of some other mildly successful indie band from a couple years ago.  Can't put my ear on who it is.

Very nice.
I saw Junip play from the 2nd row in a small club. It was so amazing. Just awesome. This is a good song.
