Blown away, blown away and waiting
Blown away and waiting on a fair wind
Sweeping through my window
Will you move me like you did once more?
Blown away, I'm blown away
Feeling everything, with you
Blown away, blown away and waiting
Blown away and waiting on...
I'm blown away, yet you're always with me still
You can say what you will now, but it's wrong
Is the love I give just a trinket to you?
Kept with all your playthings, and dreams that were new
Somewhere in a dream life that never comes true
If we can't dream it up again then what do we do?

hope you found the Rock Mix or My Favorites to hear stuff you like.
Thanks to my years of attending the Radio Paradise Academy of Musical Learning, I immediately recognized this voice as being Madrugada. Wrong! (but kind of right). Once again, I learned something new here.

By all means then, KEEP listening for AT LEAST a couple hours.

It does!  So love the 1939 William Wyler film with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon.

Happy songs make you feel like shit. Don't believe me? Listen to Katrina and the Waves, "Walking on Sunshine" and examine how you feel at the song's conclusion.

Unfortunately,  the definition of literally now includes figuratively. SMH. Appreciate the attention to grammar, nonetheless.
Borrowing from another post, his voice is a definite 'panty burner.' The kind of voice that stops your date in their tracks and renders your remaining moves completely useless.

To balance all THAT sadness out with other stats....I've always heard how we in the PNW buy more sunglasses per capita than the rest of the USA.  The reasoning is that we only need them a few months of the year, lose them and oh shit here's the sun again and have to buy more.  Long Live RP!!

I've often wondered if the lurking impossible ideal of the American dream is a factor in American malaise. Regardless, I select specific songs for their mood (upper or downer) in order to get me through a series of emotions which, left unexpressed, might never fully resolve....
I'm a natural tenor, but if I could sing like him, I'd be a happy man indeed.

Yes, he's really blown away - very unusual! And interesting.

Count me in.  Not enough deep voices (baritone? bass?)  around. I'm in love with Sivert.

Accordions! It could be MUCH worse with ACCORDIONS! I liked it today though when the RP playback went wonky and it switched intermittently between Soosgfart Hooymdrogem here and Pink Floyd "The Wall" finally settling on PF. Made me smile! The Floyd was there for me when I needed them, as always. It makes me wonder "How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?"

Which "song" components are missing exactly?  It's got a melody, a chorus, and instrumentation, among other components.  There are many works which could be called "meanders" or "doodles", depending on who's listening - or not listening.
And yet 208 of us give it an 8 - just love his deep resonant voice & it's good to hear it stand on its own here.
Love it. Pain is good. :)

I've said some unflattering things about Hoyem in the past but it occured to me as i was listening to this otherwise lovely ballad that he often swings for the fences with his music and that often times that creates a love/hate reaction from listeners. Bands/musicians who try to write popular music may accrue more fans along the way but there's still a lot to be said for the risk takers like Hoyem who lay it on the line.

One might call that an epiphany. Congrats.

Its a beautiful song.  If I rated it, it would be an 8.

Its just not a song I wish to hear very often.

So rather than a 2 or 3, no rating.
This blew me away. Thank you beyond words.
Had the sound on low in the background at the office.  Heard this song start, realized it was Sivert, and immediately had to put on the headphones and turn it up.  This guy's voice (and lyrics) is/are so emotive, haunting.  Love it.

There seems to be a few different currents running through the treads to Hoyem's music. On the one hand listeners are in love with his voice, others are unimpressed with the quality of the songwriting , and a third group (not altogether different than the previous group) thinks his music has run it's course on RP.

If indeed each of these camps is partially correct might it be possible to reduce his exposure by 1/3? I think that would be a fair and equitable solution.
Monotonic, repetitive, annoying...

Sorry to differ. I think his voice is so beautiful and the songs showcase it. So I hope that RP keeps on playing him.

You may well conclude that my distaste is a consequence of "passive listening". Not so, I'm afraid. I could likely sing you back most of the melody and a fair bit of the harmonies from memory. And I still find it boring.
