It's way too late to think of
someone I would call now
the neon signs got tired
red eye flights help the stars out
I'm safe in a corner
just hours before me

I'm waking with the roaches
the world has surrendered
I'm dating ancient ghosts
(the ones I made friends with)
the comfort of fireflies
long gone before daylight

And if I had one wish fulfilled tonight
I'd ask for the sun to never rise
if God lent his voice to me to speak
I'd say:" go to bed, world"

I've always been too lame
to see what's before me
and I know nothing sweeter than
champagne from last new year's
sweet music in my ears
and a night full of no fear

But if I had one wish fulfilled tonight
I'd ask for the sun to never rise
if God passed the mic to me to speak
I'd say:" stay in the bed world... sleep in peace"

I hear the Twin Peaks theme.
Love the voice got it up to 9
A little inconspicuous by itself but in this wonderful album it's magic. Love Nina's fragile voice.

I just skimmed down the comments to see if anyone else noticed this, as well.

Sorry for the intrusion, but how do I zoom into the album art? I don't know the actions, trick's, short cuts to get there.  Some title songs are so engaging that I want to study the cover.  Forgive me,  I just think there might be a connection.   Thank you all!

Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and roll your mouse wheel forward to zoom in. Yeah, I'm 4 years late =D and you probably already knew that but for anyone else who didn't know - enjoy.
beautiful song!

If you're viewing the Web page on a laptop or desktop, just click on the album cover. I don't know if that works in the app or the Web page on mobile devices.
Love the whole album. 9 from me. Thank you RP!
Unique, relaxing, soft. Nothing more to say.
What a lovely song. Thanks, Bill.

Yawn.
I love the Cardigans.  Nina's voice is wonderful.   This is such a pleasant listen.

I don't know much of the Cardigans music and had not heard this before. Seems strangely sadly fitting given how little sleep I've had the last few weeks. Night after night of just lying there with the Dance of the Chattering Monkeys going fulltilt boogie as I wonder what tomorrow's Covid news will be.

Amen. It's non-stop stupidity.

The Cardigans' work always has an edge to it, even when it sounds light and poppy. I like 'em a lot.
c.

God did pass the mic... and you're right about staying home, best choice.

If you right-click on the album cover and select Open image in new tab you'll get a marginally larger picture that can be zoomed with "CTRL +" and "CTRL -".  Can't change the native resolution, however.

(CTRL zero resets zoom to 100%)

Thanks. But nobody is wearing a cardigan?

Click on the picture of the album cover! That will get you a bigger picture, whether you're on the old or new site.

On my laptop if I do that it merely opens a page with links to iTunes, Amazon etc to buy the album. The cover art is actually >smaller< than the playlist page.
Je snapt er niks van kut hooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Any song that uses fireflies imagery as this one does is okay in my book

Wow... an entire play with no comments.  Must not have been super noteworthy.  I only caught the tail end, but thought it sounded promising.
